Job Title:

Logistics Technician 2 in Commerce, CA.

Position Summary:

Responsible for efficient and timely staging, loading and shipping of prepared mailings to guarantee proper quality and compliance with Company policy and USPS requirements.

Properly unload trucks of incoming material. Responsible for safe operations of powered industrial equipment at all times. Load trucks with finished goods; following trailer sheets and transportation manager's directions.

Responsible for posting all raw materials in and out of the warehouse on the computerized tracking system.

Additionally fulfills the duties of a Logistics Technician 1 as required.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

Performs shipping scheduling and manages daily work assignments to prioritize loads and ensure accuracy for shipment to USPS.

Works closely with machine leads and site supervision, to manage raw materials to insure continuous production of finished products.

Utilizes the Oracle Transportation system to properly generate required shipping and postal documentation.

Implements and maintains all components of the Postage Payment Elective agreement (PPE) to comply with Postal regulations in the shipping of standard mail.

Weighs, as required, and put in proper location all raw materials. Follows all company guidelines.

Unloads trucks with raw materials in a timely and cost effective manner.

Enters receiving information into computer systems and prepare reports.

Performs good housekeeping techniques at the job site areas, properly handling paper waste and debris, and the removal of all potential safety hazards from the general area.

Performs complete physical inventories of material as required by procedures and prepare reports.

Provides material handlers with PIC list identifying location of stored client material and available locations for storage.

Monitors the orderliness of the warehouse raw material storage areas and takes action as needed to maintain proper organization.

Assists in the location of excess material identified by the Client Services Department. Ensures disposition of copy when the Client Services department receives the information entered.

Notifies appropriate personnel if there are major variances of client copy.

Performs job functions utilizing company equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.

Develops good rapport with postal personnel assigned to the facility.

Coordinates the daily work routine of shipping operations, to include procedure compliance, and material handling priorities.

Provides orientation to new employees, to include safety practices training.

Monitors the quality of technician reports, to include piece weights and weight verification calculations. Investigates any issues detected in these reports or other receiving documents.

Responds to inquiries from other departments regarding the receipt of information on a priority basis.

Ensures all deliveries are made in accordance with contract terms.

Provides accurate route delivery information and any independent contract carrier issues.

Education & Knowledge:

High school diploma or education certification.

Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language preferred.

Safety certification for power industrial trucks.

Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.

Experience / Skills / Abilities:
1 3 years related experience.

Advanced computer software experience.

Certification in safety for power industrial equipment.

Ability to use Oracle Transportation system properly.

Knowledge of USPS shipping requirements and company transportation, production & receiving procedures.

Attention to detail.

Supervisory Responsibility:

None.

Communication & Contacts (Internal/External):

Communicate with other production team members.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds on a routine basis, bending, stooping, climbing.

Key Duties / Responsibilities: * Ensure proper operation of machines (Muller's, Cheshire's, Ink Jet Printers and Alpha liners). * Performs all maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner. * Trains production technicians in the proper set-up and copy troubleshooting techniques. * Performs activities to maintain and repair industrial computer controls and related I/O's. * Replace and repair parts, rebuild equipment, and align gears, shafts, pulleys and belts. * Utilizes illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment. * Performs inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory. * Performs housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area clean-up, machine and equipment clean-up, sweeping production floor after clean-upand various other general housekeeping duties as assigned. * Responds in a timely manner to all red lights and maintainence requests on the production floor. * Performs activities to acquire detailed knowledge of equipment components in order to diagnose causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or provide corrective maintenance. * Provides training and assistance to production technicians as needed to help maximize production output and minimize downtime through the utilization of proper production techniques and handling practices. * Inspects machinery for potential problems on a daily basis. Documents problems and schedules work/repairs as appropriate. * Provides training and coaching to new maintenance technicians and inspects their work. * Maintains compliance with changing OSHA regulations. * Learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform primary job duties. * Assists Production Technicians in resolving copy issues and other problems associated with production. Education & Knowledge: * High school diploma or general education certification * Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language preferred. * Computer software experience. * Associates degree, Technical degree/certificate or equivalent preferred. * Powered Industrial Truck Certification preferred. Experience / Skills / Abilities: * 1-3 years related experience. * Electro-mechanical experience. * Proficient in performing production equipment preventive maintenance. * Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions. * Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements. * Able to identify and perform Level A, B, & C equipment preventive maintenance. * Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints. * Computer literate. * Must demonstrate good time management skills. * Plans and organizes daily work flow.
