Job Summary

Define and review KPIs, perform analysis, drive continuous improvement projects, define methodology / standard work, manage and monitor performance in the area of logistics and material flow at site level. The Logistics Team Leader will be lead the following group (all or partially): Inbound / Receiving, internal material movements, warehousing, outbound / shipping, freight/transport management, cycle counting, inventory management, transactional activities, packaging.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe working environment.

  • Define standard work for logistics activities with the objectives of reducing lead-time, reducing cost, improving customer service (quality and delivery)

  • Define and manage relationship with external partners (suppliers, sub-contractors, freight forwarders, 3PL, customers) in relation to the logistics activities (e.g. receiving/shipping schedules, documentation, EDI.)

  • Develop process to ensure transactional activities will guarantee inventory accuracy in the management system (ERP, MRP).

  • Analyze performance and defines action plans to improve in line with the site Supply Chain CI plan.

The role of Logistics Team Leader will be responsible in scope for developing process and improvement activities in the following APQC subjects for the relevant site(s):

  • 4.4 Manage logistics and warehousing
  • 4.4.2 "Plan and manage inbound material flow"
  • 4.4.3 "Operate warehousing"
  • 4.4.4 "Operate outbound transportation"
  • 4.4.5 "Manage returns; manage reverse logistics"
  • 4.4.6 "Plan material handling and storage"
  • 4.4.7 "Manage inventory storage, location and movement"
  • 4.4.9 "Manage kitting operations

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • 1+ years of experience in Warehouse & Logistics processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GKN Experience

  • ERP/ MRP expertise particularly for transactional flow

  • Value Stream Mapping, & Lean experience

  • Experience with manufacturing Systems

  • Project Management experience

  • APICS Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) or equivalent

  • Transport management experience

  • Warehousing and Packaging experience

  • Material Handling experience

Job Summary Analytics: * Support the site leadership team and buyers with data to monitor and develop site Procurement Operations processes in compliance with US Government and other regulatory bodies, ensuring master data are maintained within the Procurement function. * Custodian of all function KPIs and master data Process and project: * Establish a system for internal monitoring and auditing of procurement practices to US Federal Procurement requirements (FAR, DFARS, CFR, etc.) * Develop training for employees involved in government contracts * Analyze and aggregate data to assist in reporting requirements (i.e. Actual Small Business Spend) * Key interface with the Global Procurement Means & Methods team. Supports the setting of requirements for means and methods improvement projects and defining and implementing global procurement standards. * Leading functional excellence with regards to ERP processes and purchasing means & methods within the site * Training of the function in relation to MRP and purchasing process excellence * Leads local process improvement projects * Own the local procurement process in the site BMS system/quality system manual * Ensure local BMS system/quality system manual is updated from and adheres to internal (global procurement standards) and external demands (Authorities, Customers etc.) Job Responsibilities * Interface with the Global / Regional Procurement Means & Methods function, SBLO, and site Procurement team to support development of Global Procurement means & methods. * Accountable for the accuracy and integrity of all procured parts master data including vendor records and quality records. * Provide support and coaching for procurement staff regarding any Procurement systems, US Government requirements, MRP data or functionality queries or problems. * Accountable for weekly data audits for procurement operations to enable data to be cleansed and monitored by appropriate KPIs. * Responsible for ensuring that the demand signal flowing from the Supply Chain function into the supplier is accurate, where any demand issues occur within procurement, leading the activity to rectify. * Supporting the achievement of On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery from suppliers, through reporting and performing corrective actions to ensure a robust demand signal from the business. * Development and delivery of continuous improvement plans for Procurement Operations processes. Job Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology * 5+ years experience in US Government contracting * 5+ years experience in MRP functional excellence.
