Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
Performs assigned tasks to ensure the efficient flow and timely delivery of material, hardware, and equipment between the Target Programs' production, and remote launch locations. This includes but is not limited to packing, shipping, record keeping, movement of government property, and production and field support activities.
The Logistics Administrator will be responsible for coordinating movement of program and customer hardware between NGIS sites (e.g. Chandler AZ, Huntsville AL, Promontory UT, etc.), suppliers, as well as the movement of hardware to/from launch sites (e.g. Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, Marshall Islands). This includes completing shippers, physical transfer of hardware to required or requested location(s), compliance with all paperwork requirements including transportation requests and DD1149 for the transfer of government assets.
A close working relationship with Government Property, Transportation, Receiving, Planning, Integration and Test, Warehouse and Program Personnel is a necessity.
Working with the Transportation Department to order trucks that meet the requirements of the program while considering cost.
The ability to be an independent logistics activity coordinator at a field site.
Data management with responsibility to track all equipment movements between locations ensuring the equipment tracking system reflects the current location of all items.
Responsible for ensuring all shipments are packaged per the Program's requirements.
Physically move hardware within the factory.
Travel will be required.
Fork lift operator a plus.
Other duties as defined.
High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required and Active Secret Clearance
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels in the organization
Strong Excel and Word skills
Ability to work independently, work well under pressure, and be able to effectively communicate to the Logistics and Operations Managers and other Program personnel.
Ability to multi task and be extremely organized
