The Logistics Supervisor is instrumental in ensuring smooth operations in our Jonesboro, AR further processing plant. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of date sensitive goods in and out of our facility, maintaining inventory accuracy, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. The Logistics Supervisor will lead a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the warehouse, shipping, and receiving departments.

  • Oversee the receiving of incoming shipments, verifying accuracy, and inspecting for damages or defects.

  • Ensure proper storage of materials and products, utilizing FIFO and efficient warehouse layout strategies.

  • Schedule loading appts for outbound shipments, monitor detention, payload, and communicate concerns with carriers and transportation.

  • Develop and implement procedures to optimize warehouse operations and minimize costs.

  • Oversee all QA and USDA compliance requirements.

  • Train and mentor warehouse staff on safety procedures, equipment operation, and best practices.

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and warehouse activities.

  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and generate reports.

  • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to meet productivity targets.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and customer service, to fulfill orders and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Enforce compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.

  • Collaborate with management to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

  • Provide back up to Manager and Scheduling activities on an as needed basis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of logistics processes.

  • Strong knowledge of warehousing and logistics principles, including inventory management and order fulfillment.

  • Familiar with operations metrics, yields, output capacities

  • Ability to analyze and forward planning.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Forklift certification and knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations.

  • Understands the intricacies of the food manufacturing industry, including the operational model spanning from harvest schedules to further processing and distribution.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Access, etc.), Power Query application, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and advanced planning systems such as SAP, CAT2, and JDA.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • 3+ years experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or distribution center environment.

  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and systems (e.g., WMS, ERP).

  • Work experience in Retail, Manufacturing, or Food Manufacturing is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and Plant work environments. Possibility of being exposed to varying conditions in the Plant setting, such as cold areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions.

  • Must be able to work in different climate conditions.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

  • May require standing less than or equal to 3/4 of the day.

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
