Job Description

Reports to Operations Manager and is a key customer contact for the warehousing facility. Responsible for successful day-to-day management of safety, delivery, and inventory accuracy. Coordinates the flow within the facility to ensure customer delivery goals are met. The supervisor must successfully adhere to the organization's level of customer service based on corporate mission and values.

Essential Functions

  • Customer satisfaction through on-time delivery of product and information.

  • Coordination of shipping material flow in a high speed and complex logistics operation.

  • Coordinates warehousing operations within company policies and procedures.

  • Coordinates material flow within warehouse/store locations.

  • Ensures accuracy and addresses issues within the receiving process.

  • Maintains delivery window and frequency to customer's plant.

  • Plan outbound deliveries based on hand material availability and demand board.

  • Maintains warehouse delivery set-ups (hot orders, dock delivery, inventory transactions).

  • Establishes and maintains a positive customer relationship.

  • Responsible for safety, quality and driving improvements within the facility.

  • Analyzing and reporting back to management of shipments.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office production and inventory management systems (APICS certification, a plus) Fluent in excel a must.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Team-oriented

  • Capability to meet deadlines and deal with emergencies

  • Ability to lead and coach effectively

  • Ability to analyze data and process flows

  • Position requires great flexibility and availability due to varied work schedule

  • High resistance to stress stemming from tight deadlines and unexpected situations

  • Willing to work cross functionally

  • Able to work effectively with varied levels of management and individual contributors

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment. At times, it may be very hot and can get cold due to the climate. There is forklift traffic in all areas in the warehouse.

Physical Demand

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to work alone. In the office by yourself after hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position on 2nd shift. The days and hours are Monday thru Friday 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There will be overtime at various times.

Required Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • ISO 9001:2000 certification
  • Knowledge of warehouse systems, (ASC Trac, a plus)
  • 2-5 years' experience in supervision

Pay $21-23/hr
