To add to our valuable team of dedicated employees, we are currently seeking a Logistics & Export Administrator at our Umicore Specialty Materials Recycling LLC facility in Wickliffe, OH. This facility is part of Umicore's Cobalt & Specialty Materials business unit.

What you will be doing

Our Logistics & Export Administrator will coordinate and carry out administrative tasks associated wtih the logistics and transportation for outbound products and finished goods by interfacing with sales, operations and quality control departments. in addition they will handle and arrange exports in compliance with U.S. Export regulations and controls. Specifically duties may include:


  • Schedule and coordinate both domestic and international transactions with carriers and freight forwarders

  • Collate, prepare, distribute and process various bills of lading and shipping documents

  • Input and maintain shipment details in database and communicate those details to concerned parties

  • Shipping of outbound product via bulk, van, FTL and FCL

  • Coordinate with Sales/Production on shipments and verify outgoing shipments in a timely manner

  • Proactively communicating issues when there are difficulties in securing appointments

  • Maintain Customs compliance

  • Maintain DOT and Hazardous Materials compliancy for all shipments

  • Verification of applicable regulations for both US and the End User Country


  • Accurately record and report Finished Goods movements

  • Track and record all customer consignment accounts, shipments and consumptions

  • Coordinate established warehouse services with customers

  • Reconcile inventory

  • Primary contact for all outbound shipping

Who we are looking for

Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and tackle any challenges they face. The Education and Experience required for this position include:

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Logistics
  • OR - 3 years experience in export/import and logistics
  • Knowledge of import/export, DOT and HAZMAT regulations

  • Strong computer skills

  • Office & Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Understanding of internal ISO 9000/14001 Management System is a plus

  • Self motivated and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong orientation toward team environment and cooperation

  • Well organized and detail orientated

  • Willingly accepts and performs special assignments

The Airfoils Division is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corp. and was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in February 2016. PCC is seeking individuals with high personal and professional standards who will thrive in a fast-paced, goal oriented work environment. The SMP Operations segment of PCC Airfoils consists of two manufacturing locations - Wickliffe and Eastlake, Ohio. SMP manufactures investment castings utilizing proprietary technology for use in aerospace and industrial gas turbine engines. Products and systems manufactured in these operations must meet extremely close tolerance limits and adhere to customer specifications. The operations are expanding due to sales volume increase and this provides unique opportunities for career growth and development: RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. CASTING DIMENSIONAL CONTROL * Blueprint interpretation * Casting conformance to customer blueprint: * Thorough understanding of layout techniques necessary for casting inspection. * Communicate inspection criteria and methods between layout inspectors and customers. * Interpretation and analysis of layout inspection information. * Ceramic Cores: * Coordinate all communication between SMP and core suppliers. * Create and maintain Core Quality Instructions: * Control core dimensional conformance to blueprint. * Control core visual quality. * Control core inspection including SPC of critical dimensions. * Tooling: * Coordinate all communication between SMP and tooling suppliers: * Write up Tooling Work Orders including letters for new tooling and rework instructions. * Obtain tooling quotes. * Review tooling work for blueprint conformance. * Production Yields Improvements: * Dimensional/Gage yield, typically related to external features. * Wall yields, relationship of internal and external features. * Airflow 2. YIELDS - Improve production yields for Gaging, Wall, Core Break, and any necessary Manufacturing areas/operations. 3. ANALYSIS - Use statistical and graphical analysis techniques to disposition yield and dimensional elements of the casting process. 4. PROCEDURES - Write, issue, and continually update Project Engineering Instructions (PEI's) in conjunction with SMP Manufacturing using Microsoft Office formats with digital photos and AutoCAD sketches. 5.
