To assist the Manager in planning, organizing,leading, and controlling Mercedes-Benz Vans activities relating to thecompany's Logistics Operations with a focus on ensuring proper PDCAimplementation and communication in a controlled and standardized approach forproduct, process, and people related changes resulting from product and/orprocess change and continuous improvement activities.
Work in project groups, lead and coordinate projectsto support the Logistics teams to ensure achievement of their goals.
Assist the Head of Logisticswith planning, organization, reporting and execution of Logistics activities.
Support the evaluating andimplementing of new processes, tools and technologies.
Strong planning and trackingskills to maintain project plans/schedules/deliverables and ensure that allproject tasks are delivered on-time.
Excellent time management with respectto priorities and self-management.
Strong understanding offinancial forecasting and quarterly cycles is highly desired.
Establish and recommend approvalof investment, expense, and manpower budgets for Logistics and to implement thenecessary controls to keep expenditures within budget.
Strong collaboration with partners/colleaguesin the plant, with other Mercedes-Benz plants worldwide, service providers and suppliersto exchange information in regards to Best practices and Lessons Learned.
Organize internal and externalmeetings to clarify definition of problems, identify root cause, implementcountermeasures, and report findings.
Maintain a high degree ofprofessionalism and integrity in dealings with all suppliers and regularlymonitor their activities to ensure consistency.
Help and develop and maintain aneffective organization through selection, training, development, compensation,and motivation of Team Members.
Bachelor's Degree in Business/Logistics or in a related Engineering fieldrequired, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a logisticsoriented environment within a manufacturing setting, with strong emphasis onproject management and process planning
Knowledgeof German language preferred
Enhanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MicrosoftExcel, PowerPoint and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the abilityto communicate with all levels of management, executive/senior staff

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC ("MBV") is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprintervans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and
Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled atthis location.
Mercedes-BenzVans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new
Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assemblyoperations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, locatednext to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility willprovide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create atleast 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
Morethan 120,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered todestinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest marketfor Sprinter vans, after Germany.
