Logistics Operator

Job Description Job Description The Logistics Operator safely perform daily activities involved in loading and unloading trucks, railcars, and any other vehicles or material containers. The Logistics Operator reports to the Logistics Manager.

Key Responsibilities Set up, start up, operate, or shut down logistics equipment per documented operating procedures Validate the driver’s paperwork with the correct weight ticket and complete required paperwork Complete logistics operating work tasks in alignment with priorities set by Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and Logistics Manager Monitor loading/unloading areas to ensure that materials in vehicles and containers are not in danger of overflowing Report loading/unloading deviations, or other concern to production shift supervisor/production manager upon discovery Comply with regulatory, company policies and procedures including safety Ensure lines and valves are properly set up per documented operating procedures before loading Perform Job Cycle Checks (JCCs) while actually performing a job to confirm the procedure content truly reflects the operating practice Troubleshoot, when necessary, problems associated with receiving tank level information Train other operators in loading/unloading work tasks and activities Maintain cleanliness of equipment and loading/unloading areas in accordance with good housekeeping and safety rules Possess practical knowledge of BQ 9000 concepts, practices, and procedures Understand Bioenergy Quality Policy and dedication to consistently and safely provide quality products that meets the needs of our customers May serve on an Employee Safety (Involvement) Committee. Qualifications. High School Diploma or GED required At least 1 to 3 years of logistics plant work experience or closely similar industrial plant manufacturing setting Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to walk for prolonged periods Able to work on multi-levels Able to climb straight ladders Able to lift 50 pounds CANDIDATES MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE MOVING LIQUIDS TO BE CONSIDERED Experience with tanker trucks and/or rail cars required. Additional Information This is a full-time position that reports to the Logistics Manager.

The work schedule for this position is 12-hour fixed shifts. This role may be required to overtime hours outside regular shift schedule to support non-routine work and plant turnarounds The Memphis biodiesel manufacturing plant operates on a 7-day, 24-hour schedule. Distilling biodiesel is an extra polishing step where we boil the undistilled biodiesel and remove any potential solids/impurities that can clog fuel filters. GREEN. Biodiesel is playing a key role in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. Life cycle analysis completed by Argonne National Laboratory found that biodiesel use reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 74% compared with petroleum diesel.

Biodiesel also improves fuel lubricity and raises the cetane number of the fuel. The higher the number, the better the fuel burns within the engine of a vehicle . ADVANCED. Our 40 million gallon per year waste to biodiesel plant is the newest (2018) and one of the largest plants in North America.
