With limited supervision, is responsible for all logistics related duties within the company including shipments, incoming goods, inventory, packaging, deliveries, freight agreements and freight claims.
This position reports to the Vice-President, Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews and makes recommendations to the management team for improvement of Company's policies, procedures and practices with respect to logistics related activities.
Oversee, direct activities, and provide regular feedback for logistics staff.
Responsible for scheduling all deliveries of shipments and receiving all incoming goods.
Verifies the accuracy and condition of all incoming goods.
Oversees the receiving data entry into M2M.
Maintaining accurate inventory records.
Coordinates and assists in the preparation and packaging of parts for shipping.
Responsible for the ordering of pallets and packaging materials.
Delivers incoming materials as needed.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
Maintains shipping and receiving records.
Initiates and follows through on all freight claims.
Negotiates favorable freight agreements.
Researches and recommends department equipment purchases as needed.
Analyzes department performance and takes effective actions to support company objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position provides direct supervision for logistics staff
Qualifications and Requirements:
Associates degree in a related field or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
5 years of Shipping/Warehousing with significant experience in scheduling and freight negotiations.
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
Computer knowledge as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook knowledge.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 75 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to a high noise level.
