Position Overview:

The Logistics Manager manages daily operations for the logistics functions. He/She oversees implementation of warehousing, distribution, inventory management, or related strategies.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Oversees implementation of warehousing, distribution, inventory management, or related strategies.

  • Implements changes meant to improve efficiency and reduce costs associated with the logistics function.

  • Manages shipping / receiving personnel including all associated processes and procedures.

  • Maintains shipping information on internal databases including third party software and the ERP system.

  • Provides excellent customer service to internal customers, including resolving any errors or discrepancies that may arise, utilizing a proactive communication approach.

  • Determines appropriate carrier and method of shipment required to meet internal and external customer demands.

  • Provides leadership, coaching and mentoring for employees. Leads consistently with the company values of teamwork, achievement and trust.

  • Serves as back-up to the Protolabs Supply Chain Manager with duties including vendor relationships, purchasing, inventory control, and scheduling.

  • Assists with supplier selection and on-going evaluation using price, quality, service, support, availability, and reliability for these selections.

  • Helps to maintain and monitor best-in-class inventory practices in support of corporate objectives. Develop, implement, and maintain procedures to ensure accuracy. Monitor excess & obsolete inventory, etc. and take corrective action.

  • Supports a fast growing business and make recommendations to improve efficiency, productivity and quality.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' experience in area of Logistics. Experience in purchasing, supply chain management, inventory control and production planning.

  • 5+ years' management experience.

  • Strong understanding of Logistics management in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to foster teamwork.

  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically to drive results.

  • Strong project management and planning skills.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
