Summary:

Residing in the Dolby laboratories Head Quarters in San Francisco and reporting to the Global Logistics director, this position will be the regional focal point for the Americas logistics coordination and product supply management. Their primary responsibilities will include working with senior management to develop and implement a global logistics strategy, day to day management of Dolby's regional Third-party- logistics provider (3PL) interaction with Dolby's Supply Chain, procurement team, Sales Ops, Engineering and Accounting teams to support the fulfillment of regional product demand.

Job functions and responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of at least one direct report and multiple indirect reports in a matrix, cross functional organization.

  • Will lead the development and implementation for Dolby's global logistics strategy, as well as lead and participate in the implementation of respective SAP projects and initiatives with regards to materials management, 3pl interfaces and overall supply/demand planning processes in support of the global Logistics strategy.

  • This role will lead and participate in processes for alignment across SC, Procurement and engineering functions with regards to NPI. Will identify and analyze service improvement and cost saving opportunities, prepare business case and gain alignment from key stakeholders and functional leads.

  • Will lead the development of proper metrics, reporting requirements, and analytical methods, as well as the communication protocols between the pertinent departments to ensure timely availability of accurate information.

  • Lead develop and implement inbound and outbound consolidation programs ensuring goods movements from contract manufacturers to regional DC's and depots and fulfillment to final customers.

  • Overall responsible for Inventory management, audit and integrity at the respective DC's and depots. Support SOX and accounting Qtr and Year end audits in front of Dolby Finance and external auditors.

  • Participate and cooperate with customs audits and internal audit initiatives to improve transparency and accuracy of business transactions. Be an advocate for product and trade compliance processes. Represents Dolby in front of local Customs authorities with regards to audits and compliance subjects.

  • In general, represent the logistics and trade functions of Dolby in his/her regions of responsibility.

  • Contract, manage and audit Logistics suppliers, Customs agents and other Supply chain disciplines to serve the Dolby strategic requirements on global Logistics.

  • Responsible for budget and costs management of the regional 3pl and transportation services. Design the financial flows, costs reporting and payments of all Logistics/Distribution activities in his regions while working closely with the finance management team.

  • Logistics management covering worldwide export/import controls; supervision of 3PL to ensure compliance with all customs regulations governing the import & export of Dolby products worldwide

  • Works closely with Sales Operations and Purchasing on respective business flows provides clear direction where there is no clear logistic process or practice in place. Educates cross functional teams on logistics and distribution related plans, processes and procedures

  • Work with cross functional teams to establish current logistics practices, benchmark findings against current industry standards provide plan that will address area's of weakness and development.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Will coordinate shipments between regional 3PLs to ensure smooth inbound and outbound supply of goods.

  • Protects shipments by investigating causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight, insurance warehouse storage and handling fees.

  • Ensure that the 3PL/CM's and own manufacturing facilities properly palletize and route shipments in accordance with documented Dolby Laboratories and their customers routing instructions

  • Prepares international shipping documents such as Commercial Invoices, Certificate of Origin, SLI's, Letter of Credits, packing slips, etc. as needed to ensure shipments are processed timely and smoothly through various Customs Agencies to eliminate unnecessary delays and storage charges

Education and Experience required:

  • 5 - 10 years' experience in logistics specific to 3PL, freight forwarding, direct distribution, reverse logistics and supply chain management

  • People manager. Preferably in an international environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or supply chain management preferred or combination of experience and education.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong team player who understands the global market

  • Ability to execute tactically but at the same time think outside of the box, excellent eye for details, good understanding of end to end business practices

  • Very good understanding of customs requirements and practices worldwide as well as provide guidance for correct shipping terms

  • SAP experience will be a plus or equivalent ERP and WMS systems.

The Role Reporting to the Director Supply Chain, the Logistics Manager will be directly responsible for the warehouse Logistics & Shipping group within the Supply Chain warehouse organization. In overseeing this function, the Logistics Manager is responsible for all warehouse equipment under their control such as the warehouse truck (e.g. utility van), area forklift, and any other equipment used as part of the day-to-day operations. The manager will use Audentes' ERP system (Oracle Fusion) to control and manage warehouse transportation (e.g. between Audentes satellite facilities, others) and shipping process, while maintaining an accurate inventory count thru routine cycle counts of materials. The Logistics Manager will also function as the backup for the Warehouse Manager and his warehouse team as needed. The role requires a hands-on Manager willing to perform current supply chain functions and take on new ones that could develop as the company continues to grow. The position will be in our Eccles facilities in South San Francisco, CA. Responsibilities * Manage Audentes' GMP warehouse Logistics, Transportation, Shipping operations. Oversee shipment of goods according to current DOT and IATA regulations. * Coordinates all shipping operations domestic and to international locations including securing transportation modes, carriers, export/import documentations. * Responsible for the corresponding warehouse operations being FDA and OSHA compliant. * Assures Logistics, Transportation and Shipping operations follow company policies, applicable GMP procedures and regulatory agencies on matters related to Supply Chain Management, safety, and environmental. * Supervise corresponding warehouse personnel, creates an environment that encourages and fosters continuous improvement, providing clearly defined roles and responsibilities and trains and mentors SCM employees. * Completes quality related investigations, CAPAs (and others) for areas of responsibility in a timely manner, according to applicable Quality procedures. Oversees, participates in internal and external audits of the Warehouse and provides follow up including item resolution and written documentation. Collaborates as needed with Warehouse Manager and others as necessary on all warehouse related investigations. * Develops /updates applicable warehouse procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure GMP and safety compliance. * Establishes and maintains timely and close coordination of activities and information with the entire Supply Chain organization, Manufacturing, Quality, PD, R&D, Facilities, Finance and others in order to achieve area and company goals. * Submits accurate and timely administrative reports, attend meetings, work to resolve any Logistics, Transportation and Shipping operations related matters in a timely manner. * Maintains accuracy of physical inventory for the corresponding areas through routine cycle counts. Investigates and reconciles inventory discrepancies to ensure Oracle inventory system accuracy. * Maintains the Logistics, Transportation and Shipping areas in a state of GMP compliance, with warehouse materials received, quarantine, store and shipped following corresponding GMP and safety procedures. * Makes sure materials are handled, stored, transported and shipped according to corresponding company policies, procedures (SOPs). Makes sure Hazmat and temperature sensitive materials are handle per applicable Safety Data Sheet and complies with local, state and federal GMP, regulatory, safety and environmental requirements. * Creates and maintains a safe work environment. Makes sure corresponding warehouse employees are trained in the use of warehouse equipment and follow applicable safety procedures and regulations, including equipment is within code and safe to use. Make sure area employees wear the corresponding PPE as required. * Ensures that the correct packaging / shipping process is followed to ensure material shipped to customers arrive without comprise to material and or customer timelines. Selects carriers for all methods of transportation for domestic and international customer shipments with specific requirements such as being able to meet or exceed time and temperature requirements specified for sensitive materials. * Maintains/files data for all time and temperature sensitive material including date shipped, received by the customer and temperature in-transit to ensure compliance with material requirements. Ensures warehouse generated documents are maintained and filed appropriately and are available as needed. * Other duties and projects as assigned. Required Qualifications * BA/BS in Business Administration, Materials Management, Supply Chain with 6+ years or a master's degree. * 4+ years' experience in international logistics, management role required, in a GMP environment within a pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environment, including handling of cold chain/Hazmat shipments. * 3+ years GMP Warehouse management experience. * Knowledge of cGMP's / FDA and EU regulations. * 3+ years of experience writing/updating SOPs, work instructions, completing Quality investigations, CAPAs, within a cGMP environment. * Distribution logistics/Customs/Supply Chain experience. Knowledge of Import and Export documentation and process requirements to meet governmental regulations for international shipping of chemicals, biological products, and investigational clinical supplies. * Demonstrated knowledge of 49 CFR and ICAO/IATA regulations as they pertain to the transportation of hazardous materials, including an understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets, how to identify chemical hazards. * Maintain current DOT/IATA certification.
