Logistics Manager

Amentum is seeking a Logistics Manager in Lorton, VA.

We are pipelining candidates for a future role.

You have excellent communication, time management, and detail-oriented skills, which you'll put to use overseeing and managing equipment for nearly 250 sites worldwide and managing the daily operation and administration of the warehouse facility. You will connect with our customers and team members domestically and overseas via email or Microsoft Teams to coordinate shipping and project status updates. Also, you will improve efficiencies in the planning, managing, controlling, directing, and coordinating the overall activities of other personnel and logistical support to refine industrial work processes.

Responsibilities:

• Plans and coordinates the ordering, inventory, intake, and distribution of products, parts, and accessories.

• Ensures timeliness and cost-effectiveness of incoming and outgoing shipments. Checks that items are appropriately marked or tagged for identification purposes, and ensures inventory is accounted for and managed.

• Perform project management activities as needed to plan, design, and coordinate complex projects and to ensure effective implementation and communication of such projects with management, employees, and external customers as appropriate.

• Develop and implement customer service functions through physical distribution, production, and traffic strategies.

• Establish and execute policies, programs and procedures to support market delivery requirements.

• Supports senior management in developing, implementing, and managing the quality assurance, environmental, health and safety (QAEHS) program.

• Works directly with process owners and program teams to drive continual process improvement projects to improve program delivery. Works with internal customers, suppliers, external customers and program business leadership as needed to meet goals and communicate performance.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, and at least 7 years of experience in logistics and/or warehouse management

• Or an Associates degree, and at least 11 years of warehouse/logistics experience, 7 of which are in logistics and/or warehouse management

• Or a High school diploma/GED, and at least 15 years of warehouse/logistics experience, 7 of which are in logistics and/or warehouse management

• Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance post-hire. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Project Management certification
