Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager will sit on site Mon. - Fri., at our Clarksville, IN lab and will manage all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

• Careful management of inbound carrier shipments, including coordination, tracking, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

• Oversee the activation of placards for new clients, ensuring accurate and timely setup to facilitate smooth operations.

• Coordinate UPS Express Critical Extraction process, ensuring urgent shipments are handled promptly and efficiently.

• Develop, monitor, and set goals for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to service performance, such as on-time delivery, shipment accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

• Implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.

• Ensure service tickets are managed effectively and completed within Service Level Agreements (SLAs), escalating issues as needed to meet deadlines.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, and Transportation to optimize processes and address operational challenges.

• Analyze data and generate reports to track performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve operations.

• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve logistics operations.

Qualifications:

• Education -

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

• Competencies/Skills -

• Strong understanding of transportation and logistics processes, including carrier management, freight forwarding, and customs clearance.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, SQL or similar software.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

• Experience -

• Proven experience (3-5 years) in logistics management, with a focus on inbound operations and carrier management.

• Experience with UPS Placard Program, UPS Express Critical or similar urgent shipment handling processes is highly desirable.
