Your responsibilities Logistics Intern Department: Supply Chain/Logistics Reports to: Logistics Manager Salary: $12 hr. Length of Service: 40 hours p/week, 8-10 weeks

Summary:
thyssenkrupp Presta seeks highly motivated students enrolled in a Supply Chain Management program with a working knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Students will gain practical experience as they deliver assistance and support to the Logistics Department. Learning Objectives/Task Goals:
  • Assist with/create all Internal/Customer Packaging Data Sheets

  • Learn Camshaft Manufacturing Process Flow

  • Inventory Control/Management

  • Inventory Auditing

  • Physical Inventory preparation and execution

  • Forklift Software (WAVEX) Updates

Major Projects:

  • Assist in creating Internal and Customer Dunnage Packaging Data Sheets

  • Assist in the preparation for our Annual Physical Inventory

  • Participate in the Annual Physical Inventory of all direct materials within the manufacturing plant

  • Assist in updating the WAVEX forklift weighing software for new parts, lowered tolerances, and adjustments of already existing parts.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:

  • Junior/Senior with an area of focus in Supply Chain Management.

  • Must be self-driven and highly motivated.

  • Good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Eagerness to learn

  • Advanced organizational and time management skills

  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel.

The Logistics Group Leader is also responsible for company inventory oversight and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries are made to customers. Major Areas of Responsibility * Monitor customer EDI`s and report sales actuals and outlook * Analyze and report sales variation and trends * Develop strategic loadings and capacity planning (Budget / MTP / Strategic FY) * Monitor capacity utilization and report status (plan vs actual) * Lead weekly logistics meetings * Pursue logistics costs reductions * Ensure logistics processes KPI`s are achieved * Scheduling shipments and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries * Keeping up with customer demand for the product * Manage inventory to meet targets and report discrepancies and projections * Scheduling inbound raw material shipments * Daily oversight of planning activities, including raw material receipt and customer deliveries * Supervise materials planner Specific Responsibilities of the Job * Publish weekly consolidated sales outlook for all plants * Analyze and report weekly sales deviations and trends * Monitor raw material deliveries and suppliers performance * Track arrival of supplier trucks and manage missing or tardy deliveries * Update loadings / capacity planning for short and long term periods * Prepare and lead weekly logistics meetings related to all areas of responsibility * Communicate to Accounting Department regarding suppliers invoices and customer credits * Monitor actual production performance compared to planned production activities and determine actions * Raise any potential customer delivery issue or raw material shortage * Keep track of customer delivery performance * Track physical logistics inventory * Act as point of contact to customers and suppliers * Provide updates on supplier and customer issues * Monitor capacity utilization status and deviation from plan * Plans, assigns, and distributes work * Administrative managerial tasks Your profile Qualifications * Education/Credentials/Certifications * Bachelor's in Business or related field * Length of Experience * Prior experience in logistics and production planning preferred * Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities * Knowledge of logistics and planning * Knowledge of manufacturing * Detail-oriented * Able to anticipate future issues * Able to make quick connections between events * Excellent written and oral language ability * Excellent reasoning and problem-solving ability * Excellent interpersonal skills * Adaptability * Ability to multi-task * Ability to cope with changes Our offer to you Safety at work and Healthcare Safety at work & Healthcare: Highest standards in occupational safety and health, comprehensive programs and measures for safety at work and preventive healthcare with comprehensive coverage and flexible options.
