Logistics Intern

The primary purpose of this position is:

• Internship will ideally start training the end of April and end August 2024.

• Ensure timely deliveries of materials while tracking, tracing and accounting for all goods released for shipping.

• Gather and maintain shipping data in in collaborative tools (i.e. Syspro, SharePoint, and Excel).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under supervision and limited decision-making

• Back office freight PO entry / creation in Syspro

• Updating Logistics freight sheet for Accounting & Analyst tracking

• Quoting & Booking Customer Service LTL Orders

• Quoting & Booking Expedites where needed

• Assist in backfilling for PTO of other team members

• Assist in communicating with the shipping team

• Input Logistics Notes

Hard skills required:

• Needs to be well versed in data entry, such as Excel

Soft skills required:

• A good communicator both verbal & written

• Quick learner & nimble in a fast paced environment

• Organized w/ Strong time management skills

• Adaptable - can be flexible & move between tasks based on priority

• Detail oriented- takes good notes during training

Additional Functions

• Book, Quotes & processes customs for all international shipments

• Books best option to meet pricing / service needs & Improves LTL transportation cost

• Create & process all Inbound LCT Shipments

• Record & Track Inbound and Outbound Freight Movements with Excel worksheets

• Communicate with Customer service to setup and manage shipments

• Quote freight moves for all customer service jobs and sports fields

• Complete and file all necessary international paperwork for customs clearance ( Trade agreements,

• Declarations, Commercial invoice and packing list, ISF, USMCA)

• Work with brokers to make sure all shipments arrive in a timely matter with no delay

• Comply with all safety regulations within the company

• Create Sales orders for upcoming shipments

• Help track down issues with freight invoices with the freight brokers

• Create Requisitions

• Receiving inventory

• GRN'ing freight invoices & Supplier drops

• Support Logistic Manager
