Utilize your logistics experience (SBG) and utilize your logistics expertise in a manufacturing environment. You will assist in the execution of below duties: supply chain services, inventory control, critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, shipment of products, and third-party warehousing. You will follow standard work and operating procedures to ensure those duties are fulfilled and goals are met.

Execute the standard procedures and assist Logistics team to fulfill tasks

Assist to drive a continuous improvement culture on the logistics process

Assist to build a Customer Satisfaction and Service culture

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Manufacturing experience in a fast pace environment.

WE VALUE

  • Some experience in Logistics or relevant functions

  • High school Diploma or GED

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes

  • Ability to operate a fork truck preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives: The primary goal of this position is to optimize the shipment / transportation functions of ANSC (Abbott Nutritional Supply Chain) minimizing costs and maximizing service. To consolidate responsibility for the procurement and management of all domestic ANSC transportation services. Allowing for the opportunity to positively impact processes, strategies, tactics and procedures to meet internal and external customer requirements with best-in-class practices, while containing costs and capitalizing on improvement opportunities. To develop a staff of highly proficient experts in the field of transportation and logistics to meet the current and future demands of this critical area of supply chain operations. Major Responsibilities: * Transportation carrier management (Truckload, Intermodal, Less than Truckload, Parcel) . * Transportation strategy development, all modes. * Directly manages relationships between the Division and transportation carriers. * Leads RFP and Procurement activities on behalf of the Division; negotiates rates, sets operational service levels, and agreement terms and conditions. * Executes carrier contracts and agreements and changes thereto. * Coordinate monthly and quarterly carrier reviews that covers operational KPIs, goals and objectives and develops action plans for future improvements and opportunities. * Tactical and strategic execution of transportation activities that support Division Sales and Brand strategies. Management and Leadership * Develop and foster close relationships with internal departments, such as Fulfillment / Deployment, DC & Plant Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Sales / CBC's and Supply Chain and Material Managers. * Present regularly to senior executives on the state of the transportation industry, both operationally and financially through profit and loss and operations business reviews. * Manage and develop the Transportation team, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching, teamwork, projects and training. * Set and review quarterly performance goals and conduct annual performance reviews. * Implement processes that champion Performance Excellence to give the team solid constructive feedback and acknowledgement of accomplishments / contributions. * Partner with other senior members of Supply Chain, MIS, Engineering and Commercial Operations to define, develop and execute projects to build functionality necessary to drive improvements and ensure the transportation operations achieves and sustains best-in-class status. Operations / Systems * Serves as business lead for Transport Management Systems (TMS) selection, utilization and strategy. * Serve as the liaison between carriers and internal process improvement / development teams where necessary for system and data integration. * Partner with manufacturing sites, distribution centers, third party manufacturers and others to report packaging issues and causal data associated with returns and damage. * Partner with manufacturing sites, distribution centers and third party manufactures to optimize pickup times and minimize time-in-transit. * Develop a formal process to review problem areas from a transportation perspective and develop corrective action plans in collaboration with inter-related areas of the Division. * Support carrier selection and load utilization to all destinations incorporating transportation management systems, (SAP, etc.) to optimize service and costs. * Document and manage the effective implementation of all operating and systems procedures, including responsibility for all operational / tactical functions in the Transportation Management System. * Support areas of the Supply Chain and Sales in resolving customer delivery issues. * Lead tactical planning discussions, meetings, or teams associated with the traffic / logistics organization, including carrier performance reviews and perfect order metrics * Utilization of transportation related Electronic Data Interchange transaction sets to improve ANSC supply chain performance * Supervisory / Management Responsibilities * Exempts Non-Exempts Direct Reports: 6 Indirect Reports: 11 * Education: * Bachelor's degree in logistics or related business discipline, this minimal educational level is necessary to be successful in this position.
