Your Role

Under the guidance of the National KNPS MBB (Master Black Belt), the delivery of DDVSA and the management and delivery of the project portfolio of these activities The delivery of KNPS savings and productivity improvements in line with Operational targets at site and country level. The support of Operations to progress KNPS methodologies including, the development of KNExcellence levels, training and mentorship of LSS GB and YB's Support in the delivery and development of productivity management tools (GRIP) within their sphere of influence

Your Responsibilities

  • Delivery of DDVSA 6 Week programmes as agreed with Operations and the KNPS National MBB

  • Delivery and management with Operations of the project portfolio's resulting from DDVSA activity

  • Productivity and Quality CI project improvements to a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Standard.

  • Alignment of projects and CI activity to meet both KNPS Savings targets and Site productivity improvement targets

  • Management of CI Tracker to ensure savings for sites are validated with financial controllers and data integrity is maintained at all times.

  • Support to develop productivity management tools (GRIP) within the sites to ensure consistent measurement and monitoring of productivity at process and site level.

  • Support operations in the development of KNExcellence levels on site from Green through to Gold (Ownership rests with Operations)

  • Working with the National MBB development of the LSS YB and LSS GB portfolio, identifying and developing key individuals

  • Training LSS GB and YB's within their local community

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Educated to degree standard or the equivalent experience

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma BB or relevant Lean experience (Min 3 years) Lean Six Sigma GB (4 Yrs)

  • Contract logistics management experience preferred

  • Can demonstrate experience as a process improvement delivery specialist

  • Has experience in delivering Kaizen or Rapid Improvement activities based on Value Stream Mapping preferred

  • Excellent communication and inter personal skills

  • Self starter with ability to work on own initiative

Technical Abilities

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

  • Negotiation skills

  • Experience in the delivery of lean six sigma and continuous improvement programmes

  • Can demonstrate a rounded business acumen including P & L management and budgeting

  • Advanced skills in MS office tools including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, MS project and MS Visio

  • An advanced level Minitab user version 14 or above

  • CAD Drawing software experience preferred

Equal Opportunity Employer Your role in helping us shape the future: The Principal Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting expert level network solutions that take into account appropriate redundancy, availability, scalability, security and manageability requirements of Intelsat and Intelsat's customer solutions. This individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the technical strategy, vision, architecture and evolution of the Intelsat ground network infrastructure and associated technologies. This role will be responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of fiber network infrastructure and IP/MPLS technologies that are required to support Intelsat's Managed Services Network. He/she must have the expertise to create network designs and follow through with their implementations and operational hand overs. This individual will work collaboratively with other groups to lead sustaining engineering activities such as network upgrades, enhancements, expansions and provide last-level support of escalated technical issues. Are you up to the challenge? Providing advanced support to the IP Engineering team in design and deployment work related to the IP-MPLS based access services. Standardizing existing and new network solutions. Documenting and presenting the solutions to product and marketing groups for inclusion into Intelsat's official Managed Services product portfolio. Leading network design efforts pertinent to the fiber and IP/MPLS backbone. This includes designing and implementing new technologies, new features, integrating new vendor equipment as well as capacity planning and capacity management activities resulting from growth of existing services. Performing continuous maintenance of the network infrastructure which involves testing, upgrades and deployment of Fiber, IP and associated infrastructure elements in various POPs and Teleports. Overseeing ongoing operational issue resolution as well as maintain and develop procedures when required to sustain internal engineering needs and projects. Providing last-level support for Intelsat Managed Services network to include IP/MPLS core/backbone and Fiber network infrastructure and associated technologies. Participating in regular one-week long on-call rotation to support the core network. Working with Development Engineering to develop requirements and guidance for the engineering of new products along with how to integrate them into the existing managed services product suite. Can you drive these processes? Gathering full lifecycle requirements, technology evaluation and purchasing, solutions design, configuration, implementation and testing of new Intelsat Core transport technology solutions as well as customer data transport solutions. Developing customized network solutions for customers to leverage fiber and IP/MPLS technologies. Analyze customer network transport requirements as well as assess impact to the infrastructure prior to service activation. Evaluating and ensuring the inclusion of operational and customer impact requirements during new implementations and upgrades. Executing and documenting planned and emergency maintenance evolutions, which will involve the use of Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) with detailed procedures for conducting scheduled maintenances and handling failure scenarios. Attending technical conferences and vendor meetings to ensure Intelsat stays aligned with the latest technologies and industry best practices. You should definitely have: Bachelor's Degree with at least five (5) years of relevant design experience in Fiber/IP network architecture and design in an ISP environment; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the stated minimum education and experience requirements. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification Advanced knowledge of IP technologies, including but not limited to; MBGP, MPLS (traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN), ISIS, OSPF, RSVP, LDP, RIP-1/2, PIM and multicast. Advanced knowledge of switching, including but not limited to; IGMP, 802.XX, Gigabit Ethernet, 10G Ethernet, Vlan/Trunking (802.1q And ISL), Etherchannel, Wireless, Spanning Tree (STP), HSRP, VRRP. Knowledge and experience in transport and WAN/TDM technologies such as TDM multiplexer, DWDM, SDH, SONET, ATM and Terrestrial/Satellite Leased lines. Extensive experience installing and configuring Cisco routers and switches such ASR9K, CRS-1, 7600 and 6500 along with associated linecards and technologies. Knowledge or experience in corporate, enterprise, and service provider services such as email, cloud services, B2B, SAS, VoIP, Content Management and other applications. Knowledge of ancillary technologies used to support telecommunication networks such as management and metric gathering tools (SNMP, Netflow), packet capturing tools and automation tools. Understanding of the technology interface between Media/Video applications and network transport protocols such as IP/MPLS, ATM and TDM technologies. Experience in the non-technical aspects of network engineering to include interfacing with various levels of employees, mentoring more junior staff and providing reports to management. Strong documentation skills required for SOW's, RFP's, design and planning documents, etc. Strong communication and analytical skills. Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 20-25%.
