The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the activities of White Castle's 3rd party logistics (3PL) service providers, along with the distribution of finished goods produced by White Castle Food Products Division (WCFP). This position will ensure that the needs of the Customer are met daily and in a timely fashion, in the most cost-efficient manner possible. This role will monitor inventory levels within the 3PL system, and coordinate replenishment with production and planning in order to have sufficient inventory to meet customer demand, while balancing inventory levels and preventing / minimizing out of stocks. The incumbent will be the primary contact for day-to-day 3PL operations, to resolve White Castle Sales and 3PL issues / concerns. What we are looking for
Bachelors' Degree in Logistics Management with a minimum of 1 year Distribution related experience or equivalent, or 3 years' experience without a degree;
Previous analytical experience is preferred, with intermediate Excel skills required;
Experience in warehousing and delivery operations, preferably in a CPG setting;
Experience in maintaining adequate stock levels and schedule replenishment orders, to address fluctuating demand - without storing excessive inventories on hand;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Efficiently manage multiple, time-sensitive tasks.
What you will do
Maintain appropriate inventory by reviewing reports, which track usage and inventory levels, to identify items at risk for out-of-stock. Communication to appropriate parties, as needed, to resolve problems and assure on time deliveries;
Monitor activities for effectiveness. Develop and maintain standards. Review KPI's for comparison purposes. Monitor shipping from each warehouse and resolve issues;
Use White Castle and 3PL reporting tools to track / trace product through the distribution network - for reporting and recall tracking. Track promotional and new / discontinued item inventories to determine runouts and confirm proper product rotation by lot dates;
Work with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Warehouse Operations to address Product and Customer issues. Research historical data and generate spreadsheets to track item usage, project future usage / requirements, estimate cost savings, etc.;
Assist and back up other team members of Supply Chain Department as required and requested.
