Logistics Coordinator

Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Logistics & Compliance Coordinator to join the team in Castaic, CA!

The schedule will subject to change, but will most likely be Sunday-Friday with 8 hour shifts.

The starting pay range for this position will be $30-32/hour + overtime wages.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Track the location and transfers of the landfill liquids

• Work directly with our trucking vendors to collect manifests and confirm the destinations of their loads

• Coordinate with disposal facilities for daily disposal of liquids

• Maintain database for all manifests related to liquids transport on site and leaving landfill

• Work with Compliance Manager on other projects as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, odors, and/or loud noises

• Moderate physical activity, such as walking up and down hills, climbing stairs and lifting up to 25 pounds.

• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions and training

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness

• Experience working in logistics and with hazardous waste is highly desirable

• Ability to adhere to work schedule, take initiative, and follow through on challenges as they arise

• Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

• Great attention to detail and organizational skills is required

• Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, customers, and other employees

• Basic computer skills. Knowledge in Excel is required
