Logistics Coordinator Job Purpose:

Works in transportation or warehousing of goods. Processes orders and oversees cycle of order fulfillment. Responsible for making sure supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the delivery and/or warehouse system efficiently and safely.

Logistics Coordinator Job Duties:

  • Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another

  • Arrange transportation, schedule staff, and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay

  • Receives products and coordinates delivery

  • Prepares loads for shipment

  • Takes steps to avoid quality control issues

  • Makes sure warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels

  • Manages activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met

  • Oversees inventory of goods and vehicles

  • Performs routine audits of material stock, and logs in Database

  • Checks material in and out of warehouse, logging quantity of materials by crew.

  • Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible

  • Streamlines shipping and transportation processes

VIEW JOBS 2/25/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-25T00:00 Amazon Transportation Operations Management (TOM) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regional Transportation Engineer to help develop a world-class logistics process that delivers goods on time at the lowest cost. Our team objective is to manage all Dock door to Dock door (D2D) flow in the first mile and middle mile space to improve speed while delivering on time performance. Amazon's worldwide transportation network includes all movements between our network nodes, including fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations and returns centers. Tactical responsibilities include (but are not limited to) working with Fulfillment Center (FC) management, local carrier hubs, and other Amazon transportation and supply chain functions and help critical customer partners on how to best use Amazon transportation services. An ideal candidate has a background in engineering, transportation, distribution and general logistics with program and project management skills. The candidate should have instinct to think big and drive automation with Tech integration to improve efficiencies on processes for TOM's day-to-day functions, both in-yard and driver-side. This role will be very analytical, focusing on transportation cost reduction and transit time improvements. Travel will be approximately 25-50% regional and 10% national.
