As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing customer orders and coordinating logistics to effectively support the efficient flow of products through the Weekes supply chain to satisfy customer needs.

Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Facilitate planning and organization of transportation for the Weekes and North Star Forest Materials business needs.

• Manage and maintain the Weekes' logistics strategy to support a variety of transportation initiatives and projects aimed to provide outstanding service at the best cost.

• Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation to maximize efficiency of the operation. Develop and identify opportunities to establish improved utilization of dedicated transportation resources.

• Work closely with third party logistics partners and account managers to assure accurate logistics plans are achieved. Collaborate and work as a team to provide excellent service at the lowest transportation cost.

• Support key initiatives targeting new and evolving logistics strategies.

• Measure and track logistics key performance indicators and metrics as directed to ensure progressive attainment of goals aimed to support company/division objectives.

• Develop daily transportation plans and forecasts for the St. Paul distribution division including the transportation needs of Weekes and North Star as needed.

• Partner with network operations managers and general managers by supporting their needs for transportation expertise as requested and facilitate logistics best practices to continuously optimize and achieve inbound and outbound efficiency.

• Coordinate a variety of transportation solutions to support dealer/customer delivery in a growing and dynamic distribution network using various transportation resources.

• Regularly monitor the status quo to identify opportunities for the division to improve safety, quality, service, and cost.

• Maintain carrier relationships partnering with the division location to service customer needs. Set expectations and assure adherence to processes and procedures designed for safety and efficiency.

Requirements

• Must have strong computer knowledge and experience to develop complex analysis supporting decision-making.

• Strong analytical skills and adept at analyzing data to draw conclusions to support business decisions.

• Effectively engage and articulate supply chain logistics concepts at the strategic, tactical, and operational levels.

• Ability to influence and support the needs of stakeholders including internal and external customers and suppliers.

• Must be courteous and maintain a good working relationship with supervisors and co-workers.

• Must abide by all Weekes corporate policies.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Valued Knowledge and Experience:

• DMSI Agility order management system or other order fulfillment system.

• Transportation Coordination and geographic routing of multi-stop delivery.

• Booking and coordinating transportation utilizing various modes of transportation.

• Knowledge of DOT requirements including hours of service, cargo securement, flatbed /truck load transportation.

• Continuous process improvement methodology with ability to champion operational improvements.

Salary Description

$25.00 - $29.00 - depending on experience
