DuPont Safety Excellence Award and is a founding member of the ET&D Partnership, a collaborative industry partnership working to reduce fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the electric line construction industry is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join our team working out of our Chantilly, Virginia office.
While working under general supervision, this position is responsible for all record keeping as well as activities associated with projects, warehousing activities, tooling and vehicles. Must rely upon experience and good judgement to plan and accomplish daily and weekly milestones.
Major Job Elements:
Responsible for day-to-day warehousing activities as defined by the Operations Manager.
Maintains accountability records and databases to include, but not limited to: safety equipment inventory, tool inventory, test equipment inventory and calibration.
Position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with buyers, vendors, contractors, and H&M project teams to coordinate logistics support as directed by the Operations Manager.
Support material procurement for all local projects as required and specified by the Operations Manager. Activities include: tracking material from the date of order, to receipt at the project site or warehouse, submitting packing lips, generating material transfer forms and other documentation required to support general logistical activities.
Required to maintain the warehouse in a neat, orderly, and safe environment while keeping project materials organized and accessible.
Identify opportunities for inventory reductions as well as establishing min/max levels.
Responsible for maintain and updating vehicle database on a monthly basis to insure all vehicles are legal. Monitors and communicates requirements for monthly preventative maintenance inspections (PMI), scheduled service needs, etc.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
Must possess a valid driver's license, and have a clean driving record.
Must be able to pass a DOT physical to drive a company box truck. (CDL is not required)
Must be certified or able to be certified to use a forklift.
Ability to work with Microsoft applications such as, Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability to shift changing priorities and ability to work with others in a team setting required.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Must be able to climb ladders and perform the necessary work while on the ladder.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and carry 25 lbs.
Previous shipping and receiving experience considered a plus.
High school education or equivalent.
Overtime may be required. May be required to work varying shifts. Occasional out of town travel may be required.
Ability to make deliveries (driving a company box truck) to multiple locations in the DC metro area.
