Position Summary:

We are seeking an Logistics Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the inbound import flow of goods to final destinations. Key areas of focus include coordinating international air freight shipments, and performing freight invoice auditing associated with movement of goods from overseas vendors via air and ocean. Forwarder and Vendor interface with regards to consolidation, tracing, payables and resolution of discrepancies. Works within the Imports Department and closely with the Merchandising Department.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three (3) years general office experience; or equivalent combined education and professional experience. Import experience preferred.

  • Must be detail oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task.

  • Analytical skills required, with ability to process numerical data and to make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately.

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience using AS/400 (JD Edwards) system operation is highly desired.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Your ability to build strong relationships and collaborate cross-functionally will be paramount as you establish and monitor key metrics that ensure safe operations, drive process efficiencies, and balance costs. You will employ your regulatory knowledge to refine our existing compliance program. Roll up your sleeves and make a difference as you play a key role to help us take our team to the next level! In this role you will * Provide instruction, guidance, and leadership to the Materials & Logistics team members and ensure that safety remains at the core of all transactions; * Establish 5S standards within the shipping & receiving and warehouse areas and optimize overall materials flows and processes with these areas; * Inspire, coach, and mentor team to achieve excellence; * Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop procedures, programs, and initiatives designed to improve team efficiencies and achieve Operational Excellence; * Ensure accurate preparation and processing of hazardous material export documentation (i.e. AES in the US) supporting export compliance and document retention requirements according to governing agency and/or corporate policy; * Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and overall performance metrics in order to align team goals and monitor associated team performance; * Interface with government agencies to pursue clarification of regulations, classification determinations, certifications, and exemptions. DOT, IATA, IMDG, Import/export controls; Traits we believe make a strong candidate * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in logistics or warehouse management in a hazardous materials environment; * Proficient, advanced use of MS Office Suite of software; * SAP experience strongly preferred; * Ability to effectively communicate across teams/levels and influence/champion change; * Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance for import/export of dangerous goods; APICS certification desired.
