Under the direction of logistics leadership, you will be an analytical problem-solver, accountable for supporting processes with proven data collection and analysis skills. What You Will Do:

  • Foster clear communication with your team and internal contacts to address service related interests.

  • Develop close relationships with key vendors concerning contract terms, payments and service while complying with all safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Act as a subject matter expert and perform various logistics activities such as account management, database maintenance, replenishment and inventory forecasting, shortage resolution, distribution planning, delivery execution and exception management activities.

  • Manage quality, service and cost metrics. Regularly analyze and report on measured data while developing and implementing specific plans to achieve improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Previous work experience in logistics, transportation, operations or a related field

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Access

  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Transportation or a related field of study

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Access

  • SAP experience

  • Previous project management experience

  • Exposure to TPM and/or Lean Manufacturing principals

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to exercise independent judgement, think critically and work well in cross-functional teams

VIEW JOBS 5/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-08-13T00:00 Position Summary The Network Planner is accountable for the production plans for single/multiple manufacturing facilities using SAP's Advanced Planning Optimization (APO) or other systems. In scope is also distribution planning/replenishment activities centered around multiple third party reload facilities through partnership with these stakeholders. The Production Planner delivers a high level of service and lowest landed cost planning solution for all products made at each plant location. The incumbent also plays a key role between customer service and manufacturing by ensuring an effective flow of communication as to product shipment and service requests. The Network Planner reports to the Planning Manager. Position Responsibilities Executes inter-plant plant-to-reload transfer strategies to enable high service of non-make items and recognizes capacity constraints within manufacturing facilities to maintain high service at lowest landed cost: (45%) * Executing of inter-plant transfers, rail replenishments and order movements to maximize customer service while minimizing freight expenses. * Manages all planning tools (offline & APO) including master data to execute effective planning resulting in timely service and reduce/avoid excess and obsolete inventory. * Monitors material availability and outbound inter-plant transfer service while managing truck building/rearranging process of inter-plant transfers to support actual customer order service goals. * Executes inventory target methodology, analyzes inventory across all manufacturing facilities, ensures compliance to them. * Managers projects and initiatives across planning to optimize the network and yield freight-spend savings. Inventory targets and manages excess and obsolete inventory. (30%) * Manages make and transfer master data for each production facility to help facilitate both short term production and long term demand supply matching exercises. * Works closely with finance, measures excess and obsolete inventory and develops action plans to reduce inefficient inventory with both proactive and reactive processes. Manages fulfillment strategy and execution of accessory product line(s): (25%) * Partner with Procurement team to ensure consistent and timely replenishment of third party accessory products across various suppliers. * Deliver on-time service across all James Hardie plant and third party warehouse facilities by overseeing replenishment of accessory inventory to targets or orders. Quantitative Dimensions Decision Making: The Network Planner possesses strong decision-making ability to address day-to-day operational challenges and address deviation from results with defined action plans and collaboration. Decision making initiative is expected to be independent in a high accountability team environment. Supervisory/Lead Responsibilities: The Master Scheduler has no direct reports, but requires a high level of collaboration with transportation, customer service, and manufacturing. Scope of Position: Current manufacturing efforts account for $1.5B of annual revenues produced. The Master Scheduler interacts with the transportation group for planning and execution of inter-plant transfers, truck/rail availability, and must have the ability to work within customer service requirements. The Master Scheduler spends the majority of his/her time executing and implementing planning best practices for facilities planned to ensure high service and lowest landed cost. Other responsibilities include a medium/long-term extension of managing the demand supply balance for those facilities planned in alignment with the overall network strategy through analysis and communication. Position Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Required: * Demonstrated ability to identify and understand issues or problems using data and use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing an appropriate solution. * Demonstrated advanced analytical skills with the various features of spreadsheet and basic software (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software). * Knowledge of production planning best practice methodologies for multiple manufacturing facilities. * Ability to collaborate effectively with plant personnel to develop action plans in reaction to product/production issues while still ensuring a high-level of customer service. * Knowledge of supply chain, transportation, and logistics. * Ability to drive adherence to planning best practices and procedures. * Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively. * Demonstrated ability to build strategic working relationships while holding others and self-accountable for deliverables. * Demonstrated ability to act independently upon information and make decisions that achieve optimal results. * Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload while paying attention to detail. * Demonstrated ability to function as a strong team player. Education/Experience Required: * Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, Operations, Engineering, or related field. * 3 or more years of experience in an analytical position with at least one year in planning. * Direct supply chain experience. * SAP/APO planning experience (preferred). * Material Replenishment Program (MRP), deployment, constrained production planning (CPP) and/or replenishment solutions experience (preferred).
