Title: Logistics Analyst / Transportation Planner

Nalco Champion, an Ecolab Company, has an immediate need for a Logistics Analyst / Transportation Planner in our Manufacturing group located at our Bedford Park/Chicago, IL plant. The Transportation Planner will interface with Production in the manufacture of chemicals for both internal and external customers. The successful candidate will be required to optimize, track exceptions (as well as recommend changes toward improvement) and use best judgments, while providing support in areas of transportation, shipping, and exporting.This same individual must be capable of multi-tasking several priorities at one time, with a focus on defined KPI's (key performance indicators) and inventory accuracy.
Coordinate various planning activities for inventory management to support manufacturing and supply direct outbound shipments.
Interface with internal and external customer including vendors, other Nalco Champion plants, Central Planning and Customer Service.
Establish daily and weekly transportation plans in order to maintain customer service levels, minimize transportation costs, and optimize transportation efficiency and reliability.

Utilize timely and effective communication of delays in transportation that may result in late orders.
Keep management informed on work in progress and potential transportation problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
Achievement of desired SIFOT (Shipped In Full, On Time)%, based upon responsible MRP's
Initiate cycle counts and recounts based upon plant-wide cycle count plan and assign to appropriate personnel. Participate in annual physical inventory.
Works with other department and site employees to achieve and maintain ISO 9001 certification.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Distribution or a related discipline
Minimum 4 years of relevant company or transportation experience

Transportation, shipping and export knowledge preferred for this role.
2+ years relevant experience in production planning, procurement planning and/or related field preferred
Previous plant/manufacturing experience
APICS certification a plus
Excel experience needed
Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner with multiple interruptions.
Must be able to follow written and verbal communication from various people with minimal supervision. Ability to work with team members and all levels of personnel and ability to organize tasks and follow through is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed.
Attention to detail a must.
