Ensure current carrier rates, fuel surcharges, etc. are maintained within the system.
Cost savings analysis on transportation-related projects across rail and truck.
Schedule, Track, and Coordinate Rail Movements across the organization
Ensure timely responses to quote requests and logistical needs
Work closely with the Rail Road Companies (BNSF, CSX, UP, etc) to ensure on-time delivery of product
Identify and implement process improvements across the US Logistics network
Problem solving of operational issues; responsible for helping plant managers improve their logistics performance and drive down costs.
In close coordination with Accounting, ensure proper payment and GL coding of all freight invoices.
Develops and prepares business related reports and analyzes trends in transportation and general business conditions. Compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed
Work closely with Director of Supply Chain and Logistics to coordinate the activities associated with the logistics network optimization.
Qualifications and Requirements
2+ years of Logistics experience
Advanced MS Excel skills is strongly preferred. Ability to create reports
Must have ability to work and operate independently
Working knowledge of Rail Quoting and Request (Online)
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative to bring projects to completion
Proficient in multi-tasking and project management
Good understanding of procurement and logistics practices
