Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Logistics Analyst to join our team in Canoga Park, California (Los Angeles area). In this role, the Logistics Analyst will be focused on receiving aspects, but could support other logistics-related areas as needed.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Key point of contact for receiving to ensure timely and accurate delivery of material.
Responsible for all receiving requirements and procedures of company, government, and customer property to support multiple AR programs and customers.
Utilize knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local regulations, codes and guidelines to ensure that goods and materials are handled within compliance.
Provide guidance and instruction to employees in all areas related to proper receiving techniques and procedures pertaining to, but not limited to, hazardous material, domestic and international receipts, etc.
Interpret purchase orders, packing list and freight documentation.
Maintaining inventory and proactively identifying issues that may impact on-time delivery.
Managing, maintaining, and completing required periodic accounting and reporting relative to receiving per Government and commercial customer contractual requirements.
Identify, track and close receipt constraints
Receipt material transfer from other AR sites as required to fill material demand, per established procedures and ensuring required authorization is granted.
Support inventory accuracy by ensuring accurate and timely stocking of delivered material.
Ensure all receiving transactions are correctly documented and authorized as required.
Maintaining documents to support and participating in internal and external audits pertaining to receiving.
May act as the lead interface with auditor in matters related to receiving.
Establish and maintain an updated record system of receiving instructions, receipts, purchase orders, carrier information, and all other related documentation for receiving personnel.
Support Purchased Labor inbound and outbound activities
May plan, schedule, and route inbound and outbound Purchased Labor receipts and shipment activities using knowledge of government regulations, tariffs and company policy.
May help coordinate out-plant runs, in-plant runs, and courier service to ensure the timely delivery of all product and material for internal and external customers.
Recommends changes to receipt and warehouse management plans in response to changing processes and supply documentation to support numerous internal and external audits.
Assist with process improvement functions.
Recommending solutions for receiving, inventory control and material flow throughout the site.
Developing and maintaining performance metrics relative to inventory accuracy.
Present recommendations and results to management.
Identifies material tracking and control practices/processes that could be improved and works with Material Control and Operations functions to implement improvements.
Assist with other Logistics Material Control Functions
Shipping, Kitting and Transportation back-up.
Support material control functions during increased workload.
Other logistics-related duties as needed.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and 3 years of related experience (5+ years of related experience preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred), and Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Capable of using information and reports to improve department processes, services and efficiency.
Extensive experience in creating and manipulating Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to work independently and in a team in warehouse and manufacturing environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
