A day in the life of a Logistics Account Specialist is never the same but, in this role, you would expect to ensure all orders are scheduled, entered, tracked and updated in a timely manner from origin to destination. This position serves as the foundation of learning our business/industry and focuses on data entry and communication by connecting via phone and email to gather accurate information from carriers and customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Enter appointment requests and/or orders received from customers and Logistics team into the transportation management system (TMS) timely and with 100% accuracy.

  • Communicate appointments to customers and/or Logistics team in a timely manner. Respond to customer inquiries and follow up with customers and internal departments accordingly.

  • Ensure processes follow customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Manage paperwork requests i.e., Proof of Deliveries (POD) and Bill of Ladings (BOL).

  • Receive and document appointment requests from other departments as needed.

  • Perform daily check calls and document information and data into systems on loads dispatched.

  • Support Accounts Receivable in collection of past due invoices for loads covered.

  • Associate degree (Preferred) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Sales or related area

  • One-year experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, sales, customer service or related area

  • Experience with Mercury Gate software preferred

Major responsibilities Functional * Responsible for analyzing and directing material flow and labor resources throughout functional areas on a daily basis. * Assure returns center operations are compliant with Rockwell Automation Policies, carrier requirements and legal standards. * Coordinate assigned personnel within different functions. Assure that all people receive proper training on the job, with safety procedures, hazardous materials, ISO 9001 requirements, and timely company issues. * Champion 5-S activities in facility. * Daily responsibility for communications with internal and external customers, i.e. suppliers, customers, other RA locations, truck drivers * Working directly with customer care * Possibly working directly with RA Customers * Responsible for tracking and recording of appropriate metrics for the functional areas of the DC. * Responsible for reporting department metrics * Responsible for directing daily activities with little to no supervision in the facility * Assist in other areas on an as needed basis. (inbound, quality, outbound, inventory, etc.) * Perform special projects as assigned by manager.
