PMS 400D is charged with the design, build, outfit, and test DDG 51 Arleigh Burke Class Guided Missile Destroyer Ships. The focus of PMS 400D continues to be ship design and production, including a full range of engineering and program management. This work is performed in conjunction with serial production of ships, is enduring, not inherently government, does not affect policy, and increases the design performance capability of the DDG 51 Class ships before Government final acceptance.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Logistician, Mid is responsible for providing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and technical services in support of the DDG 51 Program Office on the PMS 400D Professional Support Services contract. This position is located in Washington, D.C.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary logistics consultant to support planning and advise the PMS 400D1 ILS Branch Head, on emerging support trends and logistics deficiencies.

  • Provide ILS support to PMS 400D1 ILS Managers, as needed.

  • Provide a weekly status report to the PMS400D1 ILS Branch Head identifying actions in work and accomplished, the status of actions, identification of issues encountered, and upcoming meetings and travel.

  • Facilitate and participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Integrated Logistics Support Management Teams (ILSMTs), advisory boards, conferences, Quarterly Ship Program Reviews (SPRs), off-site meetings, working groups, audit teams, etc. and provide conference rooms and dial-in numbers to support telecommunication discussions.

  • Review ILS requirements, ILS Checklists from Participating Acquisition Resource Manager (PARMs), support data, and plans to ensure consistency with ILS best practices and overarching platform requirements.

  • Prepare briefs, technical requirements, plans, policies, procedures, concepts, and schedules.

  • Provide technical support and evaluation of proposed change requests.

  • Maintain a library of logistics documentation utilizing the DDG 51 Class Program approved Integrated Data Environment (IDE).

  • Provide input on PSA work specification development to the Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) planning yard and participate in Final Contract Trials (FCTs), trial card screening conferences, PSA Planning Reviews, and PSA PRTs.

  • Review, analyze, maintain, draft, validate, verify, and recommend changes to technical documentation for new construction hulls including analyzing the ship's Planned Maintenance System (PMS) supply requirements to correct outfitting shortfalls

  • and excess for PMS material items.

  • Provide management and analysis of the DDG 51 Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL).

  • Review DDG COSAL products and assure configuration control of the AEL Baseline for installed equipment. The Contractor shall coordinate with 400D1 ILS personnel to analyze and manage Installation ad Check-Out (INCO) Program.

  • Provide quarterly reports detailing assets available in the Technical Publication library, an index detailing the ships' equipment and hull outfitting Technical Publication requirements and readiness status and assemble and provide to the ships' representative Technical Publication packages and detailed packing lists.

  • Perform analysis of the ship's equipment and hull outfitting to identify and validate required Technical Publication requirements and associated discrepancies.

  • Gather and analyze multiple equipment and asset data sources to identify appropriate Technical Publications match installed equipment and hull outfitting.

  • Confirm each identified Technical Publications development and delivery to ship status by accessing the large network of Technical Manual Managing Activities (TMMA) and other sources.

  • Document, track, and report status to the ship's representative.

  • Identify and provide a comprehensive report of all equipment and hull outfitting Technical Publication supportability status.

  • Provide an assessment of mission critical systems which may be at a higher risk due to readiness deficiencies.

  • Communicate with the responsible agent for the resolution of any deficiencies that keep required assets from being received and/or successfully accessed on board the ship.

  • Maintain and provide a list of outstanding issue status and provide recommendation for resolution.

  • Identify outstanding Technical Publication deliveries and outfit shipboard main Technical Publication libraries at both Pascagoula, Mississippi and Bath, Maine.

  • Access authoritative sources to acquire Technical Publications as needed to fulfill readiness requirements identified in the analysis stages and report any requisitioning deficiencies identified in the process.

  • Stage Technical Publication requirements as needed to outfit the shipboard main libraries.

  • Inventory and prepare a detailed packing list of all assets to be turned over to the ship's representative in accordance with DoD Directive 5220.22 NISPOM classification transportation requirements.

  • Maintain and manage a current Technical Publication library of all applicable assets delivered by the team, which shall be available for the customer and ship's access, as needed.

  • Bid and proposal support if requested.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required OR five (5) years of experience providing experience performing logistics or product support for DoD/DoN.

  • Experience with Integrated Logistics Support and/or Product Support in acquisitions with New Construction Ships.

  • Self-motivated, possess strong analytical skills and be customer oriented.

  • Clearly communicate ideas to others verbally and in writing.

  • Familiarity with standard business tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and web-enabled collaboration platforms/applications.

  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

  • Must possess strong time management skills.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience on Navy platforms performing logistics for DoD/DoN.

  • Experience with DDG51 Class logistics product development to include: Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Analysis, provisioning, support equipment, technical manuals, computer resources and training.

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $65,000- $85,000. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
