The Logistic Analyst will be responsible for the overall compliance of GE Appliances Caribbean with US Customs and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) guidelines and logistics. The individual will interface with Regulatory Agencies including Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO), and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and will be responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of reports to these agencies. Will lead in all activities involved in export and import compliance globally and drive continuous process improvements aimed at execution of best-in-class performance in International Trade Compliance. Lead Sourcing efforts for the Puerto Rico P&L, serving as the Commodity Buyer for $10M+ in spend across a broad base of commodities. This role will drive down total costs while ensuring the delivery of needed goods and services to the P&L

How You'll Create Possibilities

FTZ & Logistic

  • Prepare and provide a daily receiving schedule of inbound containers based on capacity receiving labor. Identified and communicate capacity constraints in advance to create a plan with warehouse manager and inland carrier to avoid demurrage and have product availability.

  • Coordinate all the activities related to importing the inbound container with the freight forward agency, broker, and inland carrier.

  • Reconcile inbound containers status daily to track containers at all the times.

  • Plans and directs the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments, including shipments to and from both domestic and international customers/vendors, and distribution to local and export customers. Generates booking for all the exports shipments negotiates ocean freight.

  • Review Invoices for payment authorization for in-land, ocean freight and air freight.

  • Generates purchase orders for indirect material that correspond to warehouse services.

  • Maintain an effective and efficient flow of export and import controls related to international & domestic shipments to include compliance and adherence to Export Administration Regulations, U.S. Customs Regulations, and other applicable government agencies. Maintain and ensure the integrity of the import/export files and data by creating and maintaining a daily process to track all inbound and outbound material.

  • Develop and communicate forecasts in coordination with the fulfillment team of GE's annual import values and works with GE's customs house brokers and Customs & Border Protection to ensure overall compliance.

  • Monitor and reviews U.S. Export / Import Regulations with respect to determination of product classifications and Harmonized Tariff Schedules and Export Control Classification Numbers

  • Works as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with various internal departments advising them on import, export processes, targets, regulations, and requirements.

  • Work closely with Commercial Team on the development of weekly sales forecast and administer the controls for reviewing and maintaining export compliance processes which includes compliance hold reviews for controlled products and destinations in addition to monitoring daily reports.

  • Ensure that the Foreign Trade Zone manual and files are kept current with existing regulations and guidelines.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or any other field.

  • 3 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure compliance with all import regulations and documentation requirements.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.

  • Fully Bilingual both Spanish & English.

  • Experience with coordinating all activities related to imports & exports

  • Demonstrated verbal, written, and communication skills, including the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, problem solving, and time management skills.

  • Excellent attention to details and proficient recordkeeping and database maintenance skills.

  • Ability to work with all levels within the corporation which includes planning, organizing and coordination of diverse activities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle application software knowledge and experience.
