Salary Range: $32,000 to $36,000

Position Status: Full TimeAvailability: Open. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Primary Responsibility

The primary responsibility of the WaterSound Inn Lodging Manager is to assist the Dir. Of Lodging with the planning and execution of long term strategic initiatives as well as overseeing the day to day operations for housekeeping and front office. Additionally, the Lodging Manager will work laterally with the membership department for any Guest Access initiatives required to enter the WS Beach Club. The Lodging Manager will uphold all SJCR standards/company initiatives and lead training initiatives to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction. Additionally responsibilities will include: maintaining proper quality assurance programs, appropriate coach and counsel sessions; Operating within any departmental budget constraints; Assists Dir. of lodging with revenue strategies needing to be implemented or executed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Fielding guest complaints while maintaining professional dialogue with guests and finding resolutions to satisfaction.

  • Work with Director of Lodging and Front Office team to establish unique amenities enhancing the guest experience.

  • Maintain complete knowledge at all times of all hotel features/services, activities, and events. Responsible for ensuring all positions are knowledgeable all the same.

  • Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.

  • Assist staff with job functions for optimum service to guests. Observe guest reactions and confer frequently with staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Assist guests with reports of lost/stolen articles, following hotel policy.

  • Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.

  • Assist with training of the required job functions with criterion expected and department orientation with new hires.

  • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.

  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Engineering. Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.

  • Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with on-coming staff.

  • Escort guests to their chair while offering chair assistance/adjustments.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool chair and outside patio furniture.

  • Reset pool deck furniture and umbrellas whenever not in it's appropriate place.

  • Offer complimentary sunscreen to St. Joe Guests.

  • Stock and replenish pool towels throughout the day, reset on the pool chairs.

  • Provide general menu's for lobby bar food and beverage ordering.

  • Retrieving and serving alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages, and food to guests round the pool according to hotel food and beverage specifications, courteously and efficiently.

  • Also assists in the maintenance of the pool area.

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies/service procedures/standards. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use only as intended.

  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of the day.

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.

  • Be familiar with all hotels services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquires accurately.

  • Resolve guest complaints and concerns to ensure guest satisfaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.

  • Maintain complete knowledge of pool deck/chairs, pool capacity, hours of operation and proper table set ups

  • Maintain knowledge of and strictly abide by State liquor regulations

  • Maintain complete knowledge of: Dress code of the pool, services/amenities, food and beverage options, etc.

  • Complete all opening duties assigned

  • Serve all food and beverage items to guest.

  • Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures

  • Extend appreciation to guest and invite them to return.

  • Complete all closing side duties Properly breakdown and store reusable goods

  • Clean all equipment and work area Restock items for next service

  • Remove all dirty linen

VIEW JOBS 10/24/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-22T00:00 Overview Position: Lodging (Front Office & Housekeeping) Intern General Location: St. Joe Club & Resorts properties (WaterColor Inn & Resort, WaterSound Inn, The Pearl at Rosemary Beach) Reports to: Assigned Internship Mentor Overview: Length of internship: 12-13 weeks (depending upon program internship requirements) We do honor the school semester schedule. You will be expected to stay through the semester timeframe* Pay Rate: $11.50/hr (if not in a tipped position) Average number of hours/wk: 37-40 hours Internships Available: Spring (February - April) - 2 spots * Room (Front Desk, Bellperson) * Guest Services (Room Attendant, Houseperson, Turndown, Inspector) Responsibilities 2019 Housing Available: If you choose to elect housing, it is coordinated through Premier Housing Solutions. The price for 2018 was $135/week and is paid through payroll deduction. Housing is in the local area and will be at an apartment complex. All costs included internet and utilities. Parking is not an issue at the apartment complex. Based on the students selecting the housing, it may be co-ed within the apartment. Under no circumstances will a bedroom be co-ed. Rooms are shared with one other student in most cases. The average is 3 persons sharing a bathroom. Housing furniture includes single bed with frame, living room furniture, dining room table and chairs, and basic kitchen appliances and items. Housing: If an intern is staying in housing coordinated through St. Joe Club & Resorts, the rented housing must be kept in a clean and neat fashion. Inspections can be conducted by St. Joe Club & Resort staff at any time without notice. Under no circumstances should damages to the property go unreported to property manager. Damages to the property will result in losing the deposit. Housing is not a single-resident and the intern may cohabitate with up to six other interns (depending on apartment bedrooms). This includes roommates in the same room; however shared rooms will be same sex pairings. Interns must be cognizant of all religious beliefs of others within the same residents. Residents of the St. Joe Club & Resorts housing will be expected to behave in a professional manner at all times. Gatherings of people outside of those who are approved to be in the residence will not be allowed. Transportation: If you do not have your own transportation, we have a shuttle that operates from the housing locations to the various properties. The schedule is similar to a bus schedule and operates from early morning for the AM shifts to the late evening for the closing shifts. Transportation costs $10/day and is paid through payroll deduction. In some cases, the housing may be within 5 miles of the property and you will be provided a bike to ride on 30A to get to the property. Under no circumstances should the bikes be ridden along the major highways. Appearance Standards: All employees of St. Joe Club & Resorts present a professional, neat appearance at all times. Company issued uniforms must be neat, cleaned and pressed if necessary. Makeup worn during shift must be neutral and discreet. Females are permitted to wear earrings for one piercing. Males are not permitted to wear any piercings. Piercings in locations other than the ear must be removed during shift hours. Tattoos should not be visible to guests during interactions by being covered with a sleeve or neutral covered bandage. Fingernails polish must be clear with no decorations. For positions that prepare foods, food regulations prevent wearing any polish on fingernails. Qualifications * Being a Junior or Senior at a state recognized Bachelor's degree program is preferred. * Priority will be given to students who are pursuing degrees in Hospitality, Resort Management, Restaurant Management, Recreation, Sports Management, or related degree programs to our service offerings. * Flexible hours are required.
