Localization Technology Manager

We are currently seeking a Localization Technology Manager to join our Multilingual Editorial Production department (MEP) and contribute to the delivery of high quality content for IB's major business units in the working and access languages of the organization.
As the Localization Technology Manager, you would report directly to the department Head and assume the role of translation technology expert and strategist, leading all technological developments for MEP, in particular in the fields of computer assisted translation, machine translation, terminology management, internationalization and localization.
Develop, recommend and supervise implementation of best practices for internationalization and localization, offering expert advice on translatability, workflows, procedures for the development and translation of digital, web and multimedia projects.
Ensure appropriate research is conducted in available translation and publishing technology tools to identify solutions that could assist the department in meeting its efficiency and quality targets, in particular in the fields of: - computer assisted translation - terminology management - machine translation - workflow management - content management - desktop publishing - localization
Lead the implementation and maintenance in MEP of all technological solutions, working closely with IT to conduct requests for proposal, review proposals, make recommendations for purchase, and ensure adequate installation.
Work with authors, editors, linguists, project coordinators and production editors to ensure consistent understanding of the affordances of new technologies under development in the IB at large
Ensure all internal and external parties affected by the implementation of new localization tools are contacted and that training, documentation and support is available for them
Ensure prompt evaluation/installation of any updates and prompt response to any performance issues
Keep an overview of the work for all the IB's online and multimedia projects for workload planning purposes and to determine when to liaise with project team to provide localization best practice advice
Work closely with the MEP Operations Manager to ensure all translation requests for IB websites are properly accounted, logged, managed and that all relevant information is shared
Lead the MEP technologies team in order to meet objectives, customer expectations and service levels in all areas
Master's degree in translation and/or IT
Excellent knowledge and proven experience (7+ years) of computer assisted translation tools (e.g. SDL Trados, MemoQ, or other similar platforms) and other language and publishing technologies (content management, workflow management, localization, desktop publishing etc.) as an advanced user or implementer. Familiarity with machine translation highly desirable.
Experience of software acquisition and implementation in a corporate environment (RFP, negotiations, project planning, training, customization, cost analysis)
Experience in working with IT and business stakeholders, acting as business/IT liaison
Sound experience in translation and localization management (5+ years)
Excellent practical knowledge of internationalization and localization (3+ years)
Able to set and meet deadlines under pressure
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Professional command of English. Knowledge of at least another IB language (French, Spanish) desirable
