About City Year Greater Boston

City Year Greater Boston provides additional capacity to Boston and Everett public schools in their efforts to eliminate the academic and opportunity gaps that disproportionately impact those communities. We recruit City Year AmeriCorps members, young people ages 17 - 25, to serve full-time in schools identified as in most need of support. They are trained to provide evidence-based student success interventions including reading and math tutoring, social-emotional support, and peer mentoring to students in grades 3 to 10, collectively reaching close to 10,000 students across 17 schools this year.

Simultaneously, our AmeriCorps members are being prepared to be the next generation of diverse civic and professional leaders. We help them develop the essential skills needed for a successful career and support them in achieving economic mobility.
