The Washington Trust Company is seeking a Loan Support Specialist to perform activities in our loan support area. Based in our Pawcatuck, CT Loan Operations department, this position is responsible for escrow payments related to taxes and insurance, performing insurance maintenance activities (Flood, Homeowner and Hazard), investor relationship/ reporting and other investor activities. In addition, this position is responsible for meeting customer requirements while dealing with tax towns, insurance companies, and investors to ensure we are operating in the best interest of our customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure Escrow customers' property taxes and Insurance are paid on time and accurately
Ensure customer insurance is in place, adequate and meets requirements
Answer internal and external customer inquiries in a professional and competent manner
Research and respond to Escrow customer requests and problems
Maintain and document updates to existing loan accounts and escrow issues
Actively monitor procedures to keep them current and accurate and recommend process improvements for overall departmental efficiencies
Manage to the EDA and EDA0 reports for purposes of preparing for tax and insurance payments and prioritizing workflow
Manage the annual escrow analysis process and the manual re-analysis process to ensure customer shortages and overages are handled properly
Manage the PMI monitoring and cancelation process
Prepare the text files for the towns that requires file transmissions. Work on efficiency opportunities with leveraging these formats with other towns
Call towns and/ or customers to obtain proper tax bills that are needed for payment
Call insurance agents and/ or customers to obtain insurance documents needed
Perform property Insurance maintenance in OSI (renewals, new business)
Manage Investor Daily reports (IL-Daily, IL-Payoff and IL-Sold).
Process any IL-Sold minor changes for new loans
Process any Investor payoffs to report to investor as well as remittance of funds
Report daily files to Investor's (Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac)
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of an AS degree in business studies or equivalent college coursework in business
Detail oriented
2-3 years banking experience, or its equivalent (i.e., other financial services, or mortgage company)
Accounting skills equivalent to Accounting I, clear understanding of debits and credits
General PC skills
Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Demonstrated good quality communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to recognize irregular or suspicious transactions and take appropriate steps or action to prevent loss to the Bank or its customers.
