The Loan Submission Specialist is responsible for making sure all minimum UW requirements are provided by the TPO partner prior to moving a loan to UW once disclosed by the Disclosure Specialist as well as being the primary contact for our broker partners and sales team prior to the loan being submitted UW. The position reports to the Loan Submission / Disclosure Manager.

  • Reviewing loan files once indexing is complete to make sure the minimum UW requirements were met

  • Verify information uploaded is accurate including but not limited to borrower name / SS # / DOB for example

  • Confirming the broker has released automated findings to Home Point

  • Working directly with the Disclosure Specialist on obtaining clarification from or documents needed for the disclosure specialist to issue the disclosures

  • Daily follow up with broker / AE on items needed to disclose or move to UW

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in the mortgage industry is a plus

  • Strong Customer service skills.

  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and changing priorities.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity

  • Excellent time management and follow up skills required.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.

  • Knowledge and experience with Ellie Mae Encompass is a plus.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Manages closing portfolio for Commercial Real Estate loans supporting the Institutional/REIT team, including Agented and Part Bought Transactions, Non-recourse permanent loans and loans for other specialty business segments, e.g. Community Development and Healthcare. Responsible for delivering an outstanding experience to customers and business partners, while carrying out sound risk management practices, within a dynamic business development environment. This position works closely with customers, outside counsel and external consultants, Credit Administration, and CRE along with other business segments, including Healthcare, Community Development & Commercial. Responsible for initiating and driving the loan closing process, coordinating the activities, decisions, and communications amongst the deal team with the customer, outside counsel, and third parties. Responsible for the integrity of loan closings, due diligence, documentation, compliance, loan booking, and closing files for CRE customers and loans. Including: review and sign closing documents, ensure the loan structure and terms conform to credit approval and bank policies, and requirements to close are in place, identify and appropriately mitigate exceptions. Makes decisions that influence risk management and customer relationships for loans that are typically greater than $5 million, with custom, complex terms that may involve construction, acquisition, bonds, syndication, tax credits, credit derivatives, etc. Collaborates with Sales and Portfolio Managers to influence business decisions. Responsible for proactive identification of potential risks and adverse situations that may impact the bank's interest -- at loan and portfolio level, including other business segments as assigned. Communicates and/or escalates risks, pursues corrective action and drives solutions. Orders and reviews due diligence such as title commitments, flood determinations, insurance and other pre-closing items, and coordinates review with respective banker, outside counsel and title company. Prepares closing statements, ensuring all fees are collected (e.g. appraisal fees, commitment fees and other closing fees). Prepares forms necessary to book loan on system of record. Responsible for clearing any outstanding post-closing items and collateral exceptions, and ensures accuracy of loan and customer information on system of record; works with Commercial Loan Servicing to resolve errors. Manages closing checklist, certifications, and closing files according to Business Segment standards. Advises management and other colleagues of material customer activity. Manages customer requests within the terms of loan documentation, bank policy and business procedures, always with the goal of enhancing the customer experience.
