Job Description:

At Regions, the Loan Servicing Specialty Lending Supervisor leads a team Loan Servicing Specialty Lending Specialists performing a variety of loan activities relating to Syndication, Participation and/or Swap processing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assigns work to staff and determines workflow

  • Supervises team to ensure that all quality standards are met

  • Resolves escalated or complex issues as necessary

  • Identifies, designs, and implements process improvements to increase department efficiency

  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, and corrective action of associates

  • Ensures staff is properly trained and adheres to policy and procedures

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of operations or related work experience

  • Or High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of operations or related work experience

  • One (1) year of leadership or supervisory experience

Preferences

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree

  • Banking and leadership experience

  • Experience managing a team

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to meet requirements in a deadline-oriented environment

  • Detail oriented and adaptable to change

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of the business processing system, which is currently Alternative financial services (AFS) Level III

  • Knowledge of the Specialty Lending activities

  • Mastery level of understanding of the Credit Agreement/Note

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Robust interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships

  • Strong focus on managing and prioritizing multiple tasks

This individual's primary responsibility will include various administrative processing and compliance duties associated with the management of the commercial real estate portfolio. Performance of these duties may include working directly with borrowers, borrowers' agents or representatives, Voya correspondents, external/internal legal counsel, third party clients and Voya Mortgage Loan Accounting. Primary Responsibilities * Act as primary customer service contact for assigned portfolio. Respond to all correspondent, borrowers, auditors, third party clients, etc., inquiries related to loan administration as appropriate. * Ensure that all new loans are properly set-up on the commercial loan servicing system and that all notifications, welcome letters, etc. are distributed to the appropriate parties. * Monitor portfolio payment status and ensure that proper action is taken on delinquent situations and ensure that proper action is taken with all non-monetary default situations. * Monitor suspense accounts and semi-monthly delinquency reports to identify unapplied mortgage payments or refunds to be issued. Assist staff with payment issue resolution to allow for timely processing of cash. * Support various servicing activities including escrow analysis, review of insurance exceptions and claims, property inspection reviews and deferred maintenance issues. * Calculate prepayment premiums for payoff quotes and assist in the loan payoff process. * Monitor Correspondent Compliance as it relates to property taxes and insurance deliverables. * Assist with external and internal portfolio transfers. * Assist in year-end reporting. General Responsibilities * Promote a positive attitude and working environment among fellow employees. * Adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures. * Develop efficient working relationships. * Other duties as assigned by department management. QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or related field. Emphasis in commercial real estate finance is a plus. * 3 - 5 years work experience in a related commercial real estate finance field or accounting. * Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Experience reading complex loan documents. * Knowledge of best practices for servicing commercial mortgage loans. * Knowledge of and experience with loan administration and accounting systems.
