The Loan Servicing Specialist performs a wide range of loan servicing functions including but not limited to maintenance of the Commercial, Mortgage, Manufactured Housing, and SBA loan portfolios, client inquiries and problem solving, and performing of clerical duties when required. Duties include payment processing, general ledger balancing, and loan boarding, responding to client inquiries, problem solving, and performing clerical duties when assigned. This position assists with the overall daily functions of the Loan Servicing Department and performs these responsibilities within the bounds of company policies, SBA policies, and guidelines for resolution in the best interest of CWB considering all state and federal laws and banking regulations. This position performs all essential duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as Bank policies and procedures.

Essential Duties:

  • Processes payments on manufactured housing loans, core bank loans and SBA loans

  • Boards mortgage loans, core bank loans, manufactured housing loans, SBA loans, and modifications when require

  • Troubleshoots, researches, and analyzes problems that may arise when a loan file is or becomes out of compliance.

  • Reads and interprets loan documents, loan agreement, credit memorandums, modifications and promissory notes

  • Monitors Property Tax Delinquency

  • Utilizes the Accounts Payable System to process checks

  • Tracks and monitors insurance requirements to include force-placed insurance. Call customers regarding coverage prior to force placing insurance

  • General Ledger Accounting and Certifications

  • Processes Title changes for Mobile Home Loans

  • Prepares Demand Statements (Core, Mobile, SBA, and Mortgage)

  • Prepares Paid off Packages (Core, Mobile, SBA, and Mortgage)

  • Scans post-closing Items

  • Assists Borrowers with telephone and written inquiries

  • Monitors the receipt of Title Policies, Deed of Trusts, UCC Filings, UCC Searches and any post-closing items

  • Processes UCC continuations, amendments, and terminations.

  • Investor servicing and accounting and payment processing

  • Cross trains in additional loan servicing functions of the department

  • Completes all required regulatory training as assigned within deadlines established including BSA, Bank Security and any other training as assigned, within required timeframes and on an annual basis.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Experience and Skills

Prerequisites:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum of two to three years progressively responsible experience in a similar business environment or financial institution

  • Familiar with banking regulations regarding SBA, BSA, USA Patriot/CIP requirements, and other bank regulatory requirements related to and significant to the responsible performance of servicing SBA loans

  • Must possess good verbal and written business communication skills

  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills, as well as organizational skills

  • Be able to perform basic to intermediate math calculations

  • Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret written and verbal instructions

  • Proficient with: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet

  • Ability to complete tasks within prescribed time frames

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions

  • Ability to protect and maintain confidential information

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret Bank policies and procedures in the work environment

  • Exhibit high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling and having access to sensitive information

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of employees and vendors

  • Requires attention to detail and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form

  • Ability to comprehend and apply Bank policies and procedures in the work environment

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to deal with changing conditions and requirements

  • Ability to operate a variety of office machines, including 10-key calculator, personal computer, photocopier, fax machine, and scanner
