This non-exempt (hourly) position is responsible for providing complex administrative and accounting/reconciliation related support for the Loan Servicing department. This individual will act as a mentor for colleagues and assist the Loan Servicing Reconciliation Supervisor to ensure performance standards are met.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced general ledger account reconciliation.

  • Initiate ACH pulls and manual transactions; process check signing and approval.

  • Responsible for community investment reporting and Florida Documentary Stamp remittance.

  • Conduct supervisory loan-to-value (SLTV) reporting.

  • Prepare and review various board reports.

  • Reconcile PMI delinquencies.

  • Complete loan non-post processing.

  • Accurately post accrual and non-accrual changes with corresponding transaction entries.

  • Run escrow analysis past due list and shortage payments.

  • Process escheatment and escrow analysis overage checks.

  • Perform escrow analysis and complete tax and insurance payments.

  • Support the Loan Servicing Reconciliation Supervisor with day-to-day tasks and projects to ensure performance standards are met.

  • Process ad hoc/delinquent tax payment requests.

  • Track flood insurance and process force-placed insurance.

  • Run various reconciliation and loan department reports.

  • Process and administer incoming payments and payoffs.

  • Reconcile FILO payoffs and corresponding service contacts refunds.

  • Input balanced and accurate transactions to customer and general ledger accounts.

  • Process and reconcile charge off, non-accrual, and ORE transactions.

  • Mentor colleagues when necessary.

  • Research internal loan accounting inquiries and assist with problem resolution.

  • Practice and uphold basic loan accounting standards.

  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum two years of loan reconciliation and/or bookkeeping experience required.

  • Two years of loan servicing or loan operations experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively correspond with internal bank employees, outside vendors, and external customers.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 required.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access and advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.

  • Knowledge of Financial Processing core systems preferred.

  • Occasional travel to other First American Bank locations, Bank functions, and training facilities may be required.

  • Typical hours will be Monday

  • Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Additional hours may be necessary upon business needs.

  • Punctuality is required to maintain First American Bank's customer service standards.
