Overview

This is a full-time career opportunity that can be based out of our corporate headquarters in Lancaster, PA, Hummels Wharf, PA or Mt. Laurel, NJ.

Responsible for the evaluation of all but the most complex borrower relationships to determine the accuracy of the Risk Rating; compliance with policies and procedures; compliance with governing regulations. Responsible for drafting management reports for their supervisor or Loan Review Director regarding the review activities. Acting as an advisor to the Commercial Lending staff while maintaining independence.

Responsibilities

  • Review of assigned borrower relationships and evaluating:

  • Support for and accuracy of the assigned rating.

  • Compliance with all relevant Commercial Credit Policies and regulations.

  • Developed and documented support for the conclusions reached during each review.

  • Participating in a quality assurance review of the Loan Review work product.

  • Developing a complete understanding of all relevant Fulton Financial Corporation policies and procedures that impact upon the review of Commercial Loan and Mortgage borrowers.

  • Completion of assigned continuous review activities for assigned Affiliate Banks or Bank divisions, complete documentation of the review results, preparation of required reports for management and, if appropriate the Board of Directors of the Affiliate Bank.

  • Ensure the accuracy, depth of analysis and completeness of each review.

  • Complete all activities in accordance with the required deadlines.

  • Identify the need for and recommend changes to policies and procedures that impact upon the Loan Review function.

  • As required participate in the familiarization of Management Trainees with the Loan Review process.

  • Act as a coach for new team members.

  • Perform the assigned responsibilities with little or no additional guidance from the supervisor or Loan Review Director.

Qualifications Required Education

Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience. Specialty: Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.

Required Experience
5 or more years credit training at a bank to include one or more of the following: Commercial Lending; CRE Lending; Loan Review of Commercial & CRE loans; credit risk managment, Special Assets.

Certifications

Bank Administration Institute Loan Review. (Preferred)

Position Overview The Commercial Loan Officer will be responsible for achieving customer service and sales goals as established in the Lending Division's annual operating plan. This individual will perform a variety of duties to meet the commercial services needs of business customers while complying with operating policies and procedures established for the commercial services function. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Solicits new business from present and prospective customers; maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities. * Serves as a member of the Bank's sales team; makes group sales calls where these types of calls will improve the opportunity for new business development. * Effectively utilizes the bank's Customer Relationship Management program to track customer sales and service activities as well as cultivate prospective opportunities within the office's market area. * Maintains an active role in community affairs to improve Bank's visibility in the area; serves on various civic committees to increase Bank community involvement. * Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all Bank commercial products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs. * Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems. * Develops and manages commercial loan accounts which meet established lending requirements and which provide maximum profitability to the Bank with minimum risk. * Requests applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to the loan applicant's evaluation. * Compiles loan packages and facilitates negotiation of loan structure with applicant; ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to Bank policy; assures timely loan closing and funding activities; approves loans within established lending authority. * Maintains credit quality and portfolio administration within bank guidelines including participation in the collection of delinquent accounts. * Continues ongoing education to stay abreast of current lending regulations and procedures. * Interviews loan applicants and collects and analyzes financial and related data to determine the general creditability of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request; establishes and negotiates the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment, and collateral requirement. * Monitors individual sales performance versus objectives on a regular basis; discusses performance with appropriate supervisor on a frequent basis. * Maintains a working knowledge of Bank operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services. * Achieves goals assigned to the Commercial Loan Officer as part of the Lending Division's annual operating plan. * Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy. * Provides sales information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of customer service and sales performance reports. * Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports. * Communicates with department management, other department managers, and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities. Education & Qualifications * A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required; specialized banking education and training. * A minimum of two (2) to four (4) years' experience in related positions normally required. Skill(s) Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills; a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services; a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills; valid driver's license is required.
