Farm Credit Mid-America is looking for a Loan Processor Food and Agribusiness responsible for providing ongoing oversight of complex commercial loan originations in process and bringing department and documentation together to deliver a smooth closing for our customers. This role works closely with title companies, Vice Presidents of Food and Agribusiness and other operations team members, to gather and review financial statements, legal descriptions, title work, and closing documentation.

ABOUT FOOD & AGRIBUSINESS

The Food and Agribusiness division is responsible for servicing the Association's largest customers. This portfolio includes complex Commercial Ag originations direct to borrowers, including those where Farm Credit Mid-America may be the administrative agent, as well as interests in multi-bank syndications and participations, purchased and sold, and other debt instruments.

The Food and Agribusiness Operations Team supports the day to day operations of loans pertaining to niche industries that require unique handling and industry knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships by coaching others and consistently providing quality service that is timely, thorough, and exceeds customer expectations.

  • Coordinate between external and internal customers to meet loan closing requirements.

  • Enter data into origination systems and confirm database accuracy after closing.

  • Work directly with the Food and Agribusiness VPs, Credit Officers, borrowers, bank group partners, legal counsel, title companies, insurance agents, and vendors to confirm closing requirements are met and necessary due diligence is obtained.

  • Support the lending process by completing record searches, partnering directly with title companies for title requirements, ordering appraisals, reviewing entity documents, and verifying lien position.

  • Complete loan servicing activities: Loan Extensions; Releases, Full and Partial; Substitution of Collateral; Assumptions; and Release of Liability

  • Assist with portfolio management by pulling periodic portfolio reports

  • Apply acquired expertise to analyze and solve problems without clear precedent.

  • Research best practices and stay relevant in compliance topics, Farm Credit Administration regulations and Association procedures.

  • Assist with the implementation of manual, procedural and regulatory changes.

  • Participate in the evaluation of departmental processes; recognizing potential problems and solving or escalating accordingly; and recommend changes to workflow design.

  • Participate in the ongoing design of processes to provide exceptional service, achieve satisfactory credit administration goals, and achieve targeted credit quality.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

High School diploma and at least six years of successful experience in two or more of the following areas: financially related customer service, loan processing, loan servicing -OR- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business or related field. Knowledge of agricultural industry is desired (personal, professional, or educational).
