Responsible for performing specific functions in Loan Operations on a daily basis, providing coverage for multiple functions while ensuring compliance with bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws/regulations. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • Serves as subject matter expert on several areas of Loan Operations.

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats

  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications

  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports

  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes.

  • Serve as back-up and provide coverage for additional functions within the Department such as Loan Servicing and Maintenance.

  • Work with Accounting Department and other Departments/ Branches as primary contact to investigate and clear outstanding items on the GL and DDA reconciliations owned by the Loan Operations Department including, but not limited to, Loan Control, Payments in Process, ACH Clearing, Indirect, Escrow, etc.

  • Train employees on transactional impact related to the reconciliation process, including debit/ credit process.

  • Work with Audit, Compliance and Risk Departments for ongoing reviews and follow up.

  • Assist Loan Operations with writing new and updating existing procedures within the Department as needed.

  • Follow departmental procedures and guidelines to meet the compliance standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Individual must be detailed with a high degree of initiative and attention to detail.

  • Must be self- motivated and able to operate independently in the absence of other departmental personnel.

  • Must have strong systems knowledge of the primary systems utilized by the company with a skill set to easily learn other systems and teach other analysts, as necessary, to lead or assist in projects assigned

  • Must have strong collaboration and leadership skills

  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving

  • Intermediate computer proficiency.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Needs a thorough understanding of loan terminology, workflow of loan closing process.

  • Able to perform accurate calculations and transactions.

Industry and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' banking experience in a Loan Operations environment.

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, especially the debit/credit relationship.

Academic:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

The Senior Loan Ops Paid Outs Specialist is responsible for performing all functions and procedures that relate to the complete satisfaction of the Bank's paid-out loans. This includes paid-out functions relating to Commercial, Construction, Mortgage, and Consumer loans. Performs the daily duties of coworkers in their absence. Keeps up to date of all changes to bank policies, procedures, federal and state regulations which impact problem resolution aspects; May assist with special initiatives or projects; supports other areas within Loan Operations as needed. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: * Primary function is to manage and complete the final satisfaction processes of the Bank's paid-out loan file. This process includes, but is not limited to, the satisfaction of all collateral documents used to secure the various loan and collateral types as related to Mortgage, Construction, Consumer, and Commercial loans. As required by the Bank's policy and regulatory timeframes, satisfactions would be requested and/or processed on Real Estate Mortgage Loans filed through the appropriate counties; loans secured by paper Titles; loans secured by electronic Titles; loans secured by UCCs'; and loans secured by other security interests/sources. * Maintains the integrity, organization, and accurate removal of files contained in the Collateral Vault; Pulls files as listed on the daily paid out reports. * Responds to inquiries from internal and external customers as related to paid off loans. Performs research necessary to validate the release of the lien relating to existing and acquired bank loans. * Performs a loan operations specialist role, able to perform all functions of the department, cross trains other employees in roles and functions. * Follows departmental policies and procedures pertaining to problem resolution to ensure Loan Operations is in compliance with Federal and State regulations and Bank guidelines. * Keeps up-to-date with industry trends and regulations. * Responsible for organizational integrity and business ethics as it relates to this position. * Performs other related job duties and special projects as assigned. * Post quality review of paid loans and collateral releases. * Responsible for discovering and implementing efficiencies within the Paid loan team * Completes required compliance training, adheres to all anti-money laundering guidelines and procedures, and all regulatory requirements.
