Loan Operations Analyst

Responsible for performing specific functions in Loan Operations on a daily basis, providing coverage for multiple functions while ensuring compliance with bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws/regulations. Other duties as assigned.

• Serves as subject matter expert on several areas of Loan Operations.

• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats

• Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications

• Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports

• Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes.

• Serve as back-up and provide coverage for additional functions within the Department such as Loan Servicing and Maintenance.

• Work with Accounting Department and other Departments/ Branches as primary contact to investigate and clear outstanding items on the GL and DDA reconciliations owned by the Loan Operations Department including, but not limited to, Loan Control, Payments in Process, ACH Clearing, Indirect, Escrow, etc.

• Train employees on transactional impact related to the reconciliation process, including debit/ credit process.

• Work with Audit, Compliance and Risk Departments for ongoing reviews and follow up.

• Assist Loan Operations with writing new and updating existing procedures within the Department as needed.

• Follow departmental procedures and guidelines to meet the compliance standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Individual must be detailed with a high degree of initiative and attention to detail.

• Must be self- motivated and able to operate independently in the absence of other departmental personnel.

• Must have strong systems knowledge of the primary systems utilized by the company with a skill set to easily learn other systems and teach other analysts, as necessary, to lead or assist in projects assigned

• Must have strong collaboration and leadership skills

• Strong analytical skills and problem solving

• Intermediate computer proficiency.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products.

• Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Needs a thorough understanding of loan terminology, workflow of loan closing process.

• Able to perform accurate calculations and transactions.

Industry and Work Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years' banking experience in a Loan Operations environment.

• Knowledge of general accounting principles, especially the debit/credit relationship.

Academic:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Bachelor's degree preferred
