What you will need:

  • Manages all aspects of the student loan program at Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing which includes federal Direct, Nursing and Perkins loan funds and institutional Tankersley, Schell, Sr. Lucia, and Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing loan funds.

  • Monitors changes to government regulations to ensure the loan processes from initial disbursement to final payment are in compliance with current federal regulations and that current federal due diligence requirements are followed precisely in collecting student loan payments.

  • Conducts entrance interviews and counsels students on loan rights and responsibilities prior to receiving the first loan disbursement. Meets with students prior to graduation for their exit interviews to go over loan obligations. Constructs payment schedules for Perkins, Nursing and institutional loans.

  • Processes loan disbursements in compliance with government regulations; verifies student enrollment and financial aid eligibility prior to disbursing loan proceeds, and monitors EFT transfers to ensure disbursements are recorded to correct student account and funds have been deposited to correct Firelands Health account.

  • Manages the entire billing and collection process which includes: grace period letters, processing payments and posting to the correct student account, making and recording bank deposits, reconciling loan accounts monthly with bank statements and Firelands Health accounting, constructing a monthly billing schedule and preparing and mailing the loan statements, determining borrower's eligibility prior to processing deferment or cancellation forms and notifying borrowers when these forms can be submitted.

  • Actively participates and contributes to committees as appointed; prepares reports and channels them appropriately.

  • Demonstrates responsibility for continued professional growth, competence and development.

  • Participates in departmental program of Continuous Quality Improvement and provides input to the systematic plan of evaluation of the school.

What you will need:

  • Associate's degree, preferably in accounting.

  • Recommend one year or more of experience in a field involving accounting.

  • Education and experience in word processing, spreadsheet and data base programs is required.

  • Membership in a professional organization is recommended.

  • Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.

  • Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment.

  • Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.

  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident-free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes.

  • Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
