Loan Diligence AVP Credit Risk

The Loan Diligence AVP is expected to demonstrate sound understanding of residential mortgage underwriting and familiarity with FHA/HUD, FNMA and FHLMC policies and guidelines. The AVP will be in regular communication line management and immediate peers in other areas of Risk, but also with stakeholders in the Front Office and other Functions. The role comprises initial and on-going due diligence of loans financed in warehouse facilities on behalf of clients or loans held on the bank's balance sheet.
What will you be doing?
Co-ordinate due diligence process, including managing third-party vendors' review efforts, with the ability to understand due diligence scopes and reports of findings.
Re-underwrite loans to determine origination underwriting deficiencies against original investor guidelines, identifying any Credit, Compliance, and/or Valuation variances.
Present final due diligence findings prior to and post loan funding and/or acquisition.
Review and summarize raw vendor reports and loan file data to identify key transaction risks, with a particular focus on highlighting trends and relative loan performance.
Conduct on-site operational reviews of originators and servicers.
Alert senior management to material developments and trends within the assigned segments.
What we're looking for:
3 years of experience at an investment bank, asset management firm, or mortgage company.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics
Skills that will help you in the role:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with automated underwriting systems (DU/LP) and standards.
Strong organizational, analytical and research skills, attention to detail, ability to work under time constraints, good interpersonal skills and high degree of initiative.
Knowledge of Federal and State compliance requirements related to loan originations.
