Job Responsibilities
Under general direction, the Loan Analyst will
Review small business, real estate and nonprofit borrowers across all programs to assess portfolio risk and thorough lending practices.
Conduct audits of loans, reviewing borrower financial statements and compliance reporting
Prepare and present updated impact, credit, and financial risk analysis of borrowers
Analyze portfolio trends and identify, vulnerabilities, and opportunities
Analyze and evaluate market trends, and financial, economic, and competitive data
Assess loan polices and/or procedures based on trends
Evaluate financial statements, loan portfolios, lending policies and procedures, and strategies to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit, as well as recommend risk mitigation strategies
Assist with loan underwriting, including financial and qualitative analyses, calculations, summaries, and other tasks as required
Provide insights to analytics, financial modeling, and risk mitigation
Perform analysis, evaluation, and advisory assignments related to the effective delivery of loan making and servicing activities
Provide audit documentation and support for timely completion of financial statement audits
Analyze key financial indicators and metrics for internal financial statement reviews
Assists in the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures
Perform credit reviews of borrowers
Support staff in the underwriting and portfolio management
Responds to inquiries
Presents self in a professional, ethical, and culturally sensitive manner to coworkers, partners, and the public
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
Performs other duties as requested, directed, and/or assigned
Qualifications or Equivalent Combinations for Training and/or Experience
Completion of bachelor's degree in finance or business administration or closely related discipline
Five (5) years finance experience or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities to perform the duties of the position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expertise with interpreting, analyzing, and drafting financial information
Knowledge of fiscal analysis
Ability to apply understand, interpret, and analyze financial, budget, and other data to arrive at conclusions for asset management
Ability to research and analyze projects to determine validity, eligibility and capacity of applicants
Capacity to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
Operation of computer and business applications
Technical and business writing
Adherence to professional and ethical standards
Apply analytical skills, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and exercise good judgement
Prepare meaningful, accurate, and concise reports and standard forms.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to interact with diver group of executives, managers, subject matter experts, operations, and technical staff
Other Requirements
Possession of a valid driver's license
Must maintain all required licenses, training, and certification, plus any security clearances
Meet and maintain eligibility requirements for bonding
Working Conditions
Job is physically comfortable, requires sitting, walking, standing, bending, keying, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions
Work is performed in an office setting and employee will be exposed to normal hazards associated with an office environment
Employee may be required to travel and access various assigned work sties, other offices, and agencies
Must regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
