Commercial Loan - Loan Accounting Manager
The Manager of Loan Accounting leads a team of colleagues responsible for processing Commercial Loan transactions on a national level. Collaborates with Group managers, Relationship Managers, and Portfolio Manager and provides oversight of general ledger accounts and wires related to Commercial Loan funding's.

Ensure processing department functions are performed to consistently meet established service level agreements and key performance measurements and provide management oversite for Participation area, as requested or in the absence of the manager.
Effectively manage complex processing issues and/or complaints to ensure that resolution meets customer expectations for both internal and external customers.
Collaborates with various departments, management, and internal and external partners for servicing needs and issue resolution.
Oversite of general ledger and wire accounts relates to commercial loan processing to ensure timely reconciliation.
Leverage electronic tools (scheduling, capacity plans, etc) to maximize delivery of products and services at the highest level of quality and efficiency.
Monitor individual / staff performance to ensure operational procedures are being followed.
Established quality control measures to mitigate risk including self-tests.
Review and initiate requests for wire authority levels for all team members, ensuring business needs are supported
Identify risks associated with tasks / activities of the department and recommend/implement action plans to mitigate or eliminate identified risks
Monitor general ledger accounts associated with department to ensure timely reconcilement and resolution
Ensure procedures and process flow document are maintained to meet annual certification date.
Develop and maintain procedures and process maps, ensuring risks and controls are defined and documented.
Ensure compliance to all department, corporate and government procedures, policies, and training.
Manage cross training program within the department to ensure appropriate coverage is maintained by using workflow capability matrix.
Support completion of risk assessments and implement controls to address deficiencies.
Support all audits and exams, ensuring required resource allocation and requested information is provided the agreed upon time
Manage the Performance Management Process (Conducting Interim Reviews, Annual Reviews, One on One Updates and Development Discussions)
Ensure that staff complete compliance training by required deadlines and maintain training levels within the department.
Recommend Merit Increases, Promotional Increases and Hiring of qualified candidates
Manage employee time and attendance to include monitoring absenteeism and tardiness.
Address performance deficiencies through corrective action as appropriate.
Effectively communicate goals and objectives to the team
Promote a positive environment through coaching and team development.
Facilitate monthly 1x1 meetings with all direct reports.
Maintain team member performance scorecards, related to productivity, timeliness and quality and review results with team members.
Process Improvement / Project Participation
Support the development and documentation of business requirements for new or enhanced systems.
Champion change initiatives that streamline processes, eliminate waste, reduce risk or increase efficiencies.
Utilize productivity and quality data to evaluate trends.
Develop partnership with internal clients through collaboration and transparency
Ensure sound execution of process changes, with no negative impacts to standards, clients and/or customers
Support corporate and department initiatives and provide insight as related to work performed by the department.
