Load Builder

Mead Lumber, founded in 1910, is 100% Employee Owned, and was recently listed in the Lumber Building Materials Journal as the 12th largest Pro Contractor lumber/building materials retailer in the country. Mead operates 54 Lumber Yard, Retail, Truss Plant, and Component locations across nine Midwestern states.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Load Builder is primarily responsible for loading and unloading deliveries in the yard and assisting customers in the yard as needed. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stage loads for delivery or will call (accurately pull correct products from picking ticket). Load and unload trucks as needed. Operate a forklift in a safe and proper manner, according to company procedures/protocols. Follow all safety procedures, ensuring all staff adhere to them as well.

Put away products in proper bin locations. Help customers in the yard as needed. Work well with others.

Build lumber packs in a timely and accurate manner. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Ability to analyze technical problems, determine root causes and develop remediation strategies for permanent resolutions.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Available for occasional overtime. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Ability to perform basic math skills. Ability to follow directions and take initiative.
