Do you like being in an outdoor setting? Engaging with adults and children alike? Enjoy nature and all it has to offer? Montgomery County Parks, Enterprise Division, is currently seeking energetic, fun, and organized seasonal/intermittent applicants to fill our exciting positions at the Little Bennett Campground. The campground is open year-round. Activities and amenities are provided to customers March through November.

Work hours are flexible to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as noted below.

Examples of Important Duties

OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

Campground Activities Assistant(Starting @ $15.00/hr)

  • Assist with camper activities and amenities such as pedal karts, jumping pillow, movie nights, laser tag, arts and crafts, leading nature hikes and organizing special events.

  • Activity set up and clean up.

  • Work closely with campers to provide excellent customer service.

Weekend hours are required for this position. Additional on-site training will be provided. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.

Campground Attendant

  • Reservations/Cashier(Starting @ $15.00/hr)
  • Attendants are responsible for the collection of rental fees to reserve campsites

  • Creating permits

  • Selling merchandise from the camp store, handling cash and point of sale transactions

  • Serving as the Campground's first point-of-contact for customer questions and/or concerns and assisting with store inventory and Campground activity programs, when needed.

  • Attendants must be comfortable performing basic computer functions (e.g., data entry capabilities), have a pleasant demeanor, and be knowledgeable of Campground programs, fees, and policies.

  • Excellent customer service skills needed to assist customers in person and over the phone.

  • Must be able to multitask in a high-volume environment.

  • Other duties may include opening and closing facility, emailing customer permits and follow up correspondence.

Additional on-site training will be provided. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.

Campground Maintenance Attendant(Starting @ $15.00/hr)

  • Responsible for maintenance of approximately 91 wooded campsites, 3 bath houses, 3 Yurts, 3 Cabins, a Camp Store and Campground booth.

  • Removing ashes from fire pits, trash removal, sweeping and mopping facility floors, cleaning bath houses, cabins and yurts, setting up and cleaning camper ready tents, collecting recycling, light landscaping and transporting firewood.

  • Attendants will report building/Campground issues to Facility Manager and keep accurate inventory of janitorial supplies and equipment.

Requires long periods of standing, frequent walking, repeated bending, crouching, stooping, stretching or reaching and repetitive lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to follow directions and work independently. On-site training will be provided. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Campground Activities Assistant:

  • Minimum age of 16 (work permit is required).

  • Experience working with children preferred.

  • Work weekends required.

Campground Attendant

  • Reservations/Cashier:
  • Minimum age of 16.

  • Varied hours from weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

  • Knowledge of fundamental computer skills required.

  • Cash handling experience preferred.

Campground Maintenance Attendant:

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Previous housekeeping and landscaping experience preferred.

  • Part-time weekday and weekend work required.

Supplemental Information

These positions are seasonal (part-time) and do not include benefits. Hourly wages are based on experience and qualifications.

Allselected candidates must display excellent customer service skills, attain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (training classes available) and attend in-house orientation. Ages 16-17 must have a work permit if hired.

Ongoing continued training and internal growth opportunities available.

A complete background investigation will be completed prior to hire.

May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.
