Job assignment includes:

  • Managing assigned Attorneys calendar
  • Ordering records and bills when asked.
  • Sending out discovery to clients.
  • Sending documents to clients for signature.
  • Coping and sending out mail and faxes
  • Updating pleadings
  • Updating medical information
  • Creating miscellaneous letters as needed.
  • Paying invoices.
  • Helping with trial preparations if needed (copying, preparing exhibits, etc.).
  • Assisting the Litigation Paralegal with various tasks.
  • Filing


  • 2+ Years legal assistant/paralegal experience.
  • Excellent Organizational skills
  • Must have litigation experience
  • Experience with doing discovery, research, drafting motions, depositions, mediation, scheduling, litigation, etc.
  • Cast-iron pipe litigation experience preferred

Acting consistently with all applicable rules of ethics, to manage all aspects of litigations and investigations ("matters") other than those specifically requiring attorney input to ensure they are handled efficiently, expeditiously and appropriately. Duties and Responsibilities * Coordinate and be accountable for all internal operations of the matters for attorneys, including discovery, witnesses, budgets, and compliance with GSK processes, protocols, and strategies. * Take primary responsibility for relevant fact gathering as it relates to matters. * Manage overall case work and strategy throughout the progression of the matter in coordination with eDiscovery team with regards to privacy, data security, preservation, vendor processes, tools, and workflows. * Develop and direct discovery strategies and prioritize information needs (including search taxonomy, preservation notices, vendor management, etc.). * Manage and execute the matter tasks in Preservation Notice Database (PNDB) and Chain of Custody (CoC) database: issue Preservation Notice, Data Privacy Check/Clearance, initiate Collection Requests, Export Requests, and Return/Destruction of data at the close of the matter. * Conduct initial screening interviews with potential company witnesses whenever appropriate to facilitate the matter attorney's witness selection process. Coordinate and organize witness interviews, preparation, and depositions conducted by attorneys or act as lead at direction of attorneys as needed. * Take primary responsibility for ensuring the proper preparation of draft discovery responses. * Be accountable for all administrative elements of matters (e.g. case opening and closing; document management; ensuring timely internal transmission of adverse event information; settlement processing; etc.). * Be the primary point of contact for external counsel (where retained) on all aspects of a matter not specifically requiring in-house attorney attention. * Perform other duties as assigned in support of matters Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: * Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience * 8 plus years of experience in a legal environment. * 8 plus years of experience with large document litigation and/or investigation matters (especially collection and production of several million pages of documents) including staffing requirements to meet Court imposed deadlines which includes supervising temporary employees (up to 100) and outside counsel attorneys and paralegals. * Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: * Excellent prioritization, organization and time-management skills * Strong understanding of litigation principles and operations. * Ability to anticipate what will be needed, analyze and problem solve and to make decisions with limited direction, being accountable for those decisions. This includes the creativity and persistence to explore multiple paths to a solution. * Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and adapt quickly to change. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Attention to detail and the judgment to determine what level of detail is appropriate for a given task. * Ability to maintain confidentiality, to learn new information, to perform under pressure and to stay with a task until it is complete. * Highly approachable, excellent communication skills, and ability and confidence to engage with senior stakeholders. * Be proactive, independent, engaged, and highly performance focused. * Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, persuade, explain, and actively listen. * Expertise with common tech platforms and a strong willingness to learn new platforms as they are deployed. Expert in use of GSK and Legal systems (Teams, PNDB, COC, Workday, Concur, CERPS/Ariba/Fiori, Workplace, myLearning, Ascent, and NetDocs). Skillful in Legal Discovery Tools (Relativity, Ringtail) and manipulation of Discovery Dashboards. Why GSK?
