A highly regarded law firm in Washington, D.C. is seeking qualified applicants for a temp-to-perm role as a litigation paralegal. Preferred candidates should have prior law firm experience, roughly 2-4 years of litigation experience, and prior experience in IP Law (preferred but not required). Temp-To-Perm - contract pay is $40/hour, with full-time salary between $80-95k Hybrid

  • 3 days in, 2 days out Core hours are 9:00am

  • 5:30pm - candidates should be flex for OT The Litigation Legal Assistant (Paralegal) will support the Litigation Legal Assistant department and attorneys by facilitating the completion of projects for cases and developing procedures to maintain the integrity of cases. This position will also draft and review legal documents.

    Duties & Responsibilities Maintain correspondence and pleadings, and index as appropriate. Utilize litigation software such as Relativity. Assist with document productions, including coordinating attorney reviews for relevant and privileged documents and coordinating efforts with eDiscovery and Litigation Support.

    Maintain deposition files and deposition exhibits indices. Assist in the preparation of documents for witnesses depositions. Assist with court filings.

    Docket litigation due dates. Work overtime or travel, if required. Assist in all aspects of the preparation for trial and attend trial if needed.

    Complete duties under time constraints. Participate in the supervision and training of litigation clerks. Other assigned duties as needed.

    Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent litigation experience required; Paralegal certificate preferred. Minimum two years litigation experience. Demonstrated knowledge of litigation software such as Relativity is strongly preferred.

    Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including meeting platforms such as Teams and Zoom, and the ability to learn the software and databases used by the firm and its clients. Solid experience with case/matter management and/or other database tools and technologies used to manage data and information. Excellent research skills and proficiency in using various research tools, including the Internet and court websites.

    Strong customer service skills, including written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be a self-starter, while also being comfortable taking direction from others. Ability to work under pressure, meet frequent deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.

    Ability to deal courteously and efficiently with attorneys, clients, court staff, administrative and support staff, and outside vendors and professional peers. Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary. Willingness to be a team player on all department projects.

    LOD offers non-attorney flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, the candidates general skill set, the applicability of the candidates skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors. A specific rate of pay for a project will be discussed with you if it is determined that you are a potential fit for a role.
