Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a recognized leader in education law, seeking a highly motivated Litigation Paralegal with 4-5 years of experience in state and federal court procedures. The ideal candidate will support the litigation team by managing case files, assisting with court filings, and preparing materials for hearings and trials.
The firm represents school districts, higher education institutions, and other educational entities, and this role requires strong organizational and legal research skills with a focus on education law. Key Responsibilities: Assist attorneys in managing all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through trial.
Prepare, draft, and organize legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, and exhibits. Conduct legal research, fact investigation, and document review related to education law issues. E-file documents in state and federal courts and ensure compliance with all applicable filing requirements and deadlines.
Maintain and organize case files, including document management, discovery tracking, and file indexing. Assist in coordinating witness interviews, depositions, and preparation for hearings and trials. Prepare trial binders, exhibit lists, and other trial-related materials.
Assist with discovery, including preparing and responding to discovery requests, summarizing depositions, and organizing document productions. Liaise with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel to facilitate case progression. Prepare summaries and chronologies of key documents and case events.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program. Experience: 4-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with experience in both state and federal court systems. Practice Area Expertise:
Familiarity with education law is a plus but not required. Court Filing: Proficient in electronic court filing systems for both state and federal courts.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software such as Relativity, iManage, or similar. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and client-focused demeanor.
Organizational Abilities: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Team Player:
