Job Description Job Description Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Litigation Legal Assistant with a strong background in plaintiff personal injury, product liability, and/or medical malpractice cases. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Alabama and be well-versed in eFiling processes.
This position requires a self-starter who thrives in a paperless environment and is proficient in using Mac systems. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to attorneys specializing in litigation. Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings with accuracy.
File documents electronically (eFiling) in accordance with Alabama court requirements. Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling depositions, mediations, and court hearings. Organize and maintain case files in a paperless environment, ensuring efficient document management.
Conduct basic case research and gather necessary information for case preparation. Coordinate communications with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Monitor and meet critical deadlines for filings and court appearances.
Qualifications Experience: 3-5 years as a legal assistant in litigation, particularly in plaintiff personal injury, product liability, and/or medical malpractice. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Mac systems and experience working in a paperless environment.
Court Filing Expertise: Demonstrated experience with eFiling systems in Alabama. Organizational Skills:
Excellent ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in document preparation and scheduling. Work Ethic: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working in a fully paperless law office. Familiarity with legal case management software. Advanced knowledge of Alabama court rules and procedures.
